I think I said in the other thread that movie versions are a separate license (several, in fact), and not planned at this time.

And this will not be as extensive a line as Minimates. At the moment, I believe we are only looking at a few key characters from outside the original Mego line-up.
Dang! This is a kinda of a major bummer. Only a few characters outside of the original and none in a no frill version? Well, there goes my hope for Dr. Strange. ( I don't think Dr Strange is on most people's list.) The FF will be costing me more than $320.00 to complete (factoring taxes and shipping) I'm going to have to be more conscious of what I buy as oppose to "collect them all." Still happy and many thanks to the good Doc.

updated costume still needs to stay classic comics though...perhaps a darker blue in the suit...I'm talking updated as in keeping the classic comic look, but darker uniform and little more detail just like the spidey has (a modern costume looking but better than the original mego suit)

Hopefully Captain America gets a Classic modern update detailed costume (like Spidey's) and two sheild's (one replicated without the sticker and now painted and another classic slightly bigger sheild for the classic modern update

As I said in the thread in Mego Buzz - the retail price is a condition of the license. Feel free to hold out for a lower retail price from an individual retailer, but
remember what the Romulan, Sulu, and Wonder Woman are now selling for on Amazon.

So, is the intention to re-release all twelve original Mego Marvels as expanded editions, in groupings of three, and add four new figures to round each release, such as the announced Wolverine, perhaps Dr. Doom, etc.?

I guess I'm curious as to whether DST feels all the originals should be re-released/expanded.

    Hi DSTZach---welcome aboard!

    Can't wait to get these!

I'm curious about the approach to Thor: original and updated, I can see, but what about the alter ego? Don Blake (with labcoat, stethoscope and walking cane) would be my preference as he would be appropriate for the Mego era.

I think we might need those lottery winnings to afford these if they go as extensive as Marvel Minimates.

Are movie accurate versions a possibility? I find myself really hoping for Robert Downey Jr/ Iron Man and a Hugh Jackman/ Wolverine. Wouldn't mind if DST tapped some of their other licenses for 8" Retro Goodness, namely Stargate and New Battlestar Galactica! I could see something similar to this Spider-Man set working with Star Trek as well! Kirk from Original Series all the way to The Wrath of Khan look, then to Star Trek: Generations look!

I CALLED IT! I started this thread Jan. 1, 2014 New Year's Day 4 months ago! FINALLY! MAKE MINE MARVEL! Way to go Dr Mego and DST! The Spider-Man set is AMAZING! Repro Mego CIRCLE Spidey with repro BOX and NEW Spidey and Peter Parker outfits! I wish there were 3 bodies for the 3 outfits in the set but I am still buying it! I want ALL ORIGINAL Mego Marvel figures done this way! Some Marvel characters have even had at least 3 different costumes each over the decades like Jean Grey so maybe you could do those instead of a civilian outfit! Let the speculation and suggestions begin! I am happy DST announced the news today so we did not have to wait a week for C2E2 panel!

Since I am the one out of the entire Mego community who suggested DST/EMCE Mego Marvel figures by starting this thread maybe I should be rewarded by a one of EVERY set you do for FREE!

The camera that comes with Peter Parker makes me laugh because it reminds me of the one that supposedly came with the Peter Parker alter ego that many people have argued about over the last 20 years.
