All good energy for Paul...nothing is ever a waste...Paul helped pioneer, revolutionize and catalyze the way for collectors. Thank goodness for EMCE! Discovering his work online made me a complete Mego fanatic....creative, classy, upstanding guy, that Paul! Of most of the Heroes, I bought at least 2: 1 for opening, 1 for displaying on the blister (plus that extra Batman I got for my brother two Christmases ago). I would have had 2 of each of these Final Wave too! A removable mask Robin!! and a Joker!! Too cool!!

They were doing the waves of 4 in pairs of hero's and villains. It looks like Joker and Robin, Supergirl and Bizarro. Now, my question is...who where they pairing up with Spectre and Dr Fate?

^^^ I agree with Chris completely here. Having Robin and Joker would have really given the line a nice balance to finish out the license. It's really a shame these never got made. I would love to see close ups of Robin and Joker. It looks like Paul was going after more of the '66 look with the leggins and such.

Hard to see a lot of detail, but just the presence of Robin and Joker would have made the Retro-Action line feel complete. The others would have been icing (delicious icing!) on the cake.

Ok, I take it back...those prototypes looked cool as hell! That Joker & Robin...man I would have liked to have had those. Even tough the bodies were crap, I would have swapped them out.

    Didn't it, though?

Instead of four of these great characters, we got that Matty collector wave of GL stuff as a movie tie-in.

Mattel shot themselves in the foot with this line.

I would've bought all of those retro actions. I love the Joker. I'd love to see better pics of these.

Does anyone know if the Robin prototype figure shown in the video had a painted on mask or a removable one?

    Thanks

Yeah I am still angry at Mattel, and that just reinforces it.

Aww man I just watched the video and those figure beg to be made. How disappointed I am in Mattel! Wish the good Dr. could have gotten them out, maybe he can as custom parts some time in the future.
