Great stuff Paul. I'm not a Zombie or Horror fan, but I'll get em just to keep up the EMCE collection.

I hope you were serious about the other line as well...Blackula means I can make a quick and easy Dr. Daystrom figure for the Star Trek crew.

Just for the record, on contrary to popular believe, There are no zombies in NOTLD. They are in fact "Ghouls". This has been pointed out by Romero on many occasions.
I like them though and will be buying them when they are available. I hope you can manage to get the "trowel girl" done as she IMO is one of the main stars of the show!

He is absolutely correct and that is a bit of a pet peeve of mine too. Now the movie White Zombie with Bela Lugosi, those are Zombies.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Sorry fellas, but I was kidding about the blackpolitation line.

Joe and I joke about it a lot, but I doubt it will ever really see the
              light of day.

Every time I hear the weather report caution about "black ice",
I see a movie trailer in my head from 1972.

Who'd ever thought that cuddly, fuzzy Mego would ever do grim, scary NOTLD. I think they are great. Like how the Mego look is kept instead of the realistic gory look.

I think these look fantastic! I plan on getting them.

However, I'd just like to throw my two cents into the ring regarding horror stuff and EMCE. NOTLD is old enough to be somewhat tame and not over-the-top gory or bordering on Satanic themes like many horror films of today do. It's kind of quaint in a creepy kind of way. I sincerely hope that Emce will continue in the same types of properties that Mego did. Mego always seemed to be about family friendly properties. I'd really hate to see EMCE start to pick up licenses that border on grotesque or that are in bad taste. I'd even go so far as to say that EMCE Dawn of the Dead figures (as much as I love the movie) wouldn't be in line with what people associate Mego (EMCE by association) with. Sounds funny, I know, but there seems to be a fine line there somewhere. I personally don't want to start associating Mego with properties like Jason or Freddie or Chuckie, etc. My vote is to keep it all clean and child friendly...even if it is mostly us old guys that are picking the stuff up.

With all that being said, I realize that EMCE is a business and needs to make money. I just hope they don't have to get in with unsavory properties to do so.

That is indeed good news about NOTLD!!!!

I am saddened that the Blaxploitation line was a joke!!!
I also play with other dolls:

I hope EMCE continues to release NEW lines as this is another opportunity for Mego collectors dream to come true.

We have all imagined a 8" Mego line for SMDM, Buck Rogers, Star Wars.

I'd like to see the World's Greatest Action Stars: Norris, Bronson, Stallone and Arny.
