No Mass Cancellation of BBP Doctor Who Product!

So, I've waited a bit to post about this to see if more information shakes out, but nothing has at the moment. I definitely do not want to cause people to freak out or anything, but my favorite Who retailer is reporting that most of the Doctor Who figures they had on order (along with other items from BBP) have now been cancelled.

Anyone hear about this or have more info about it? I'm hoping maybe certain assortments are just being cancelled for re-work? I don't think it means anything terrible, necessarily, maybe orders were just weak and they are doing a rethink. I hope so. I am really hoping we at least get the Doctors out of the line, including the John Hurt and 12th Doctor figures!

I really hope the do continue with the Doctors at least. I'm still anxiously awaiting the First Doctor figure's arrival in the UK.
Incidentally, the Fourth Doctor and Cyberleader have sold out here so I'd believed the line was doing alright.

I actually noticed some of the Doctor Who figures at Entertaiment Earth disapear for pre order, found it strange.

Wha?!?!? Like I wasn't disappointed ENOUGH when we got the message that Universal Monsters retro cloth was cancelled. Is this an official announcement? If not, I'm still holding out hope...

Sounds like pre-orders were not sufficient to send these to production. I'm sure Jason will be saying something soon.

No official announcement. Just cancellations with retailers. I'm still hoping they are just regrouping instead of dumping the 8'' line totally. Hope we at least get the Dalek.

This is exactly why i'd rather have all the Doctors made before alien characters like Sutekh etc

I was amazed to see these figures getting made. Pretty neat even though I'm not into Dr. Who.
It sucks for all you collectors to have these get cancelled.

I am not sure why they didn't go with a Doctor and his most famous companion as each series.

Seems to make more sense to me than producing some of the Villian's they chose.

I have Tom Baker and I preordered the Hartnel & Smith set with my local comic shop. Now I am worried they are not going to be coming.

I wouldn't worry about those. I think the 1st Doctor, 11th Doctor and Dalek are probably all safe, or EE would have cancelled them by now, surely. I'd say Weng Chiang/Sin/etc. onward would be the ones that are the issue. I have no idea how many more figures BBP solicited to retailers. I felt like, post SDCC, we knew that Weng Chiang might be getting the chop, didn't we? It might just be that this has made it official and they are re-focusing on the items we'd seen at SDCC.
