The Universal monsters and Twilight Zone are my 2 favorite Re-Mego lines. I sure hope they don't stop making the monsters...

Exactly. I really enjoyed this line and I'm sorry to see it go. Doc's figures combined with Mego73's boxes were a winning combination.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

Does anyone find these 2 parts of the quote, from the same person, somewhat contradictory?

The line has done pretty well for us,...
If the line has done pretty well then from a business standpoint wouldn't you want to expand it? I would think you could find more monsters to make even if they are not Universal film characters. Perhaps expand into beloved SF/Horror characters.

The Thing from The Thing Another World, Klatuu & Gort from The Day the Earth Stood Still, Saucermen from Invasion of the Saucer Men, (on a child body). I'm sure there are others I'm not thinking of at the moment.

Not at all, what I took it to mean was, the line has done well but they don't have much confidence in future character assortments with the license. They have a good sales history now and are probably noticing a drop off in sales once you get into the less recognizable characters.

I think it means we're getting Mole Men in the all-plastic 7" line.

As I had expected, our beloved Retro Cloth Monsters are coming to an end.
I can understand their reasoning, they've done all the big sellers, and they don't want to take chances.
              Still, sad news.

I was fully hooked and had pre-purchased Phantom and Metaluna. I was hoping to get a Dr Jeckel/Mr Hyde and an Invisible Man, and maybe Huntchback and Dr Frankenstein. Sad that I had it all mapped out in my head like that.

But I was hooked. If they ever decide to revive the retro figures, I'll sign up eagerly! The Universal Monsters were very well made with great detail!

Man.... I'm just not OK with this. Not one bit. While I am most definitely grateful for what was produced, I do feel as if the line is ending BEFORE its COMPLETE. That's no good with me, dude. Not one bit. Homie don't play dat. What if they got to the 4th quarter of the Superbowl, and simply DIDN'T PLAY the 4th quarter?!?! A construction team doesn't build MOST of the bridge. Was it OVER when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!?!?!?! Come on Diamond / EMCE. After this years assortment of Metaluna Mutant and Phantom, give us one more wave. One more wave of FOUR. A SUPER wave. To COMPLETE the LINE!!! Go out with a BANG, not a whisper... BAM BAM BAM BAM! Four AWESOME figures to COMPLETE the line! Do It! I'm not asking ya.... I'm BEGGING ya! PLEASE!!! Complete the line! Think about all of us collectors who will have an INCOMPLETE collection of Universal Monsters! Think about how much we all miss MEGO! Think about the starving children in Ethiopia! PLEASE! ONE MORE SUPER WAVE OF FOUR!!!!!! I'm on my knees begging ya!!!!!

A Bela Dracula and Karloff Frankenstein would have been awesome. But I didn't think we'd get as many as we did, so I really can't complain.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Shame to see it end, and I'd have loved to have gotten an Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, Quasimodo, or even one of the Mole People. Still, we did get most of the heavy hitters and we do have the Jason and Freddy figures from NECA hitting the same time the Phantom and Metaluna Mutant hit. So we got that going for us. Which is nice.

Hey, maybe since the Universal line is ending, we can persuade EMCE and Diamond to take a shot at making Hammer horror figures?
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

Not surprising news. So many of these licenses can't run as deep as what many of us would like. The fact we got such quality figures from the big names is quite satisfying for me. They are nice additons to my Universal collection.

There was talk of two more monsters but not enough retailers would commit to large enough orders to justify the production run.
Disappointing, but after researching Sideshow's history, I can see that we did the most popular monsters and we would rather
go out strong than squeeze out two poor received peg warmers.

I am sad to hear this line will end. I am just curious Dr. Mego, are you still working on producing more 8 inch lines? I know the Big Bang Theory is coming, but is there going to be other lines with EMCE? Thank you.

My happiness with what has been made far overwhelms the disappointment that the Phantom and the Mutant are the end of the line. Thanks for making the Creature figure I always wanted!
