Dear Ivsniski,
Please share a tutorial whenever you can on how you re-strung these... I follow the tutorial from the Mego Museum and never get your results... Then of course it can be me, not the tutorial but would like to give it a shot to your technique...
Thanks in advance!
My Re-stringing version gives the action figure the dual feel of a Type 1 and a type 2 Mego body...for the poser collector at heart. Hence, the picture below showing full ROM on a re-strung Doc Mego body using the 'Out of Print' swivel arms that Castawaytoys use to sell (those were cool). Additionally, another key element with restringing these bodies is the "Arm Loop" near the arm/torso socket. I'll be more specific on my Tutorial on Sunday. Until then.....Vaya Bayomon

I love the Star Trek display, but the blue eye Superman is gorgeous.Leave a comment:

Those are some great looking pictures, Ivaniski. Really captures the "action figure" part of these toys.Leave a comment:

Hey, cdhall...How you doin'?
Here's a few more figures i re-strung awhile back. The kids and i really enjoy the ROM we get with every figure.
Here's a Gorn i've re-strung for a member at the Museum. The others are my personal figures that I restrung for my kids...they stood the test of time (Many years of play time).
The Phasers and Phaser rifle are from (i believe) an old Toysrus exclusive TOS Star Trek bridge set. I think you could find it on Ebay.
All of these were re-strung by yours truly. The elastic string is durable and great for poses and/or flying about.

Ivaniski!
I’ve PMd you.
But where did that head come from and what about the black and silver/gold phaser and com?Leave a comment:

I utilize elastic string purchased at Michael's or any craft shop. Then I
string them up using a tried and true method i've used for over 40 years. I'll try to put a Tutorial up soon.
This is a Regular Doc Mego body...After re-stringing it's comparable to the Type S body with multiple articulation minus the swivel arms. However, the Type S body by Castaway toys is an "Awesome" product.

American factories won't even take the order. China will begrudgingly accept a low run of figures, but they also don't much worry about how good they come out.Leave a comment:
