Actually, if it weren't for meeting Doc at a NY con way back, i never would have gotten into collecting Mego's and customizing. It was seeing how i could piece together Teen Titans that made me start collecting. (Shame on you Doc)Of course it took me about 12 years before i did start.

      Welcome to the party, pal.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

I don't think I would be back into the collection of Mego and Mego-like figures. With Dr. Mego I originally used him to help me create customs of figures we didn't have like that Flash in Green Lantern (waaaaaay back in the day before the Mattel figures).
From there, I just went nuts ordering repo parts and custom parts to make figures and for about three years I think I paid his mortgage with all the orders I sent.
I have a few other things in mind when I return back to customizing. For the time being I'm taking a break (looking for an idea for new space). After almost 300 and some figures later I thank Dr. Mego (Paul) for sparking a renewed interest in a childhood collection that became sort of an obsession.

        You rock Dr. Mego!

I read the PC interview. It's spooky how much two doctors have in common. One on the east coast and another on the west. Thankfully we have enough differences that I'm not too creeped-out.
Please let me take a moment to give credit to the MegoMuseum. When I say this place is a 'Think-Tank for Mego', I mean it. So many of you members are beyond helpful. Every question I ask, is given great consideration. I can't thank you all enough. If C&D orders have done the damage to our hobby. I say it's time to fight back HARD! I draw and sculpt fan-art. Try and stop me! Or better yet, try and hire me.

            Second order arrived today.
It's getting harder and harder to find stuff to order on the other sites. Currently saving up my pennies for the 3rd order.
dr_cyclops has been bit by the custom mego bug. The infection is spreading rapidly through my system. I'll update as the condition progresses.

Mego bug infection is increasing at an excelerated rate. Third order placed with the Repro Depot. I've identified this strain to be custom in origin. No current desire to spend hundreds of dollars on vintage pieces I had as a kid. Instead, there is this crazy desire to make every Mego I ever wanted.

LOL, I just ordered from him for the first time, too! I was very pleased and also got a pair of free purple reptile pants! Although I didn't know what they were; I just figured they were culottes for some hippie chick, lol.

I'm thinking I may need to dye these reptile pants a darker purlple. What did you buy? What you making/restoring?
Every order is like X-mas 1973! That was the year I got my preordered Superman and removable cowl Batman. I had to wait to get Robin, cause he wasn't in the Sears catalog edition I chose my gift out of. My dad preordered these two for me. My father is an artist, he never failed to support my artistic efforts in any way. Quite the opposite, he fueled it like a forge!

I make a LEGO photocomic based on the Classic Space theme, and the main character is a black uniform astronaut minifigure. However, I have a special anniversary comic coming up and wanted (through convoluted reasons) to depict the action in Mego this one time. So, I'm making a Mego figure of a LEGO astronaut, basically. I ordered a base male body, unmasked Robin head, black tights, and black superhero boots and gloves. For the airtanks, I'm going to try a set from the 12" G.I. Joe line (as long as they fit, large size is fine) and either the black police helmet from ClassicTVToys.com or a Pez race car helmet. The logo on his chest is from a LEGO sticker sheet.

I also ordered EMCE Dr. McCoy, who now looks awesome standing next to my Kirk and Spock.

Glad to hear your Dad was so cool in your childhood and understood your artistic drive!

DetectiveFork, Thanks. Sounds like a fun project; Mego style comic. Makes me think of "Twisted Mego Theatre" and "Robot Chicken".

Trappy Trek Freak, I envy you. I await the day I can be dragged kicking and screaming out of a Mego Meet cause of 'what I said to Doc'.*

Third order arrived today. Everything as ordered. Nothing missed. A 5 out of five star for 'Fair-Trade' transaction! Free pair of purple pants. All business to date with DrMego has been 5 star.
