I would personally love Brisco County Jr, but in this day and age I think the only cowboy that has the slightest chance is The Lone Ranger.
My store in the MEGO MALL!

BUY THE CAPTAIN CANUCK ACTION FIGURE HERE!

Probably because the Nazis were the butt of the jokes.
Robert Clary (LeBeau) is a holocaust survivor.

I would think a Gilligan's Island set would be good.

Brisco County would be a good one and finally give us Bruce Campbell in Mego form.

To me Western stuff would work. My tastes now are pretty much the same as they were when i was a kid. What I mean by that is, I would only buy figures of stuff I would have played with as a kid. I would play with western toys in the back yard. i would have played with Dark Shadows stuff in the back yard. I would not have played Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island or Hoagans Heros in the back yard.

For new line to really survive, they must have "kid apeal". Try the new show "Teen Wolf" or Twighlight*barf* or True Blood. Turn a profit on that stuff then go into some pet project that could survive as internet/comic shop exclusives and be sold in smaller runs.

I was thinking the same thing. I have always dreamed of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Mego Style figures and if I might stretch it a bit even Gabby Hayes. The kind of extravagant western wear they wore in thier films would make beautiful figures. I was thinking, strike up a deal with the Roy Rogers estate. Make the figures in very limited quantity and sell them on the official Rogers website. I am sure they would sell out immediately. It does not matter that kids don't know who Roy is. You would be selling to Roy Rogers fans at a place they frequent often. This could be the case with many other characters from classic shows, films, comics, musicians, etc...

My taste also is today mostly what it was when I was a kid. There are shows, films, comics, music, actors that I appreciate more now as an adult than I did as a kid but for the most part my tastes are the same. The key here is that we are not dealing with children's toys in the mass market but with adult collectors that could buy from specific retailers so it does not matter that westerns are no longer popular. There are still people that love them and adult collectors would love to have figures based on thier favorite films and shows.

                      NO! Not Twilight! Never Twilight!

That series is an insult to the vampire genre.

                      Forever Knight.

                      True Blood.

                      Teen Wolf.

                      Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

                      Angel.

Those series I 'd buy in a minute.

Dont get me wrong, I hate Twilight, never saw the movie. But mego lovers and collectors in general probably make up about 10% of the market. So as a the company producing this stuff you have to ask, who are the 90% of the market and what are they most likely to buy. Figures from a 40yr old TV is probably not on their "must have" list.

I think Rooster Cogburn (Wayne or Bridges) or maybe Wayne and Dean Martin from "Rio Bravo" might do okay. The Lone Ranger and Tonto would do fine. Alan Ladd and Jack Palance from "Shane" would rock.

any sort of generic John Wayne cowboy would be sweet.
