I remember a few years ago a company called Exclusive Premier did a series of classic TV cowboys from Gunsmoke, Rawhide and the Wild Wild West limited to only one of the main characters from each show ( Matt, Rowdy and Jim ). I am a huge fan of these three shows and would love to see a whole series of Re-Mego figures based on characters from these shows. Probably dreaming big but I was curious if anyone here other than me is a fan of these shows and would care.

Westerns aren't real popular these days. A line based on western heroes would have been great in the 1960's but now seems kind'a iffy. Although I think a fanboy's dream line today would consist of characters from:
Gunsmoke, (including a Clint Eastwood figure)
Bonanza (but no Pernell Roberts because he doesn't licsence his likeness out)
The Lone Ranger
Zorro
Have Gun, Will Travel
The Wild, Wild West
Maverick
Big Valley
F-Troop
Briscoe County Jr.
There must be a couple of other TV series. I know I'm forgetting some. There are scores of movies I'm not even listing too. I'm not saying every character needs to be made but maybe 3-4 top characters from each series and it would be a big deal line-up. Westerns tho, are not popular anymore. When I was a kid in the early 1970's they had faded away.Comment

I suspect customizers would buy a lot of Heath figures to make Steve Autin.
BTW, the Exclusive Premiere figures were pretty decent. I have Matt Dillon, and my only real gripe it that the gun's just a molded part of the holster. The likeness of Arness is very good, though--much better than most EP figures, which often bore little resemblance to the actors.Comment

Oh, of course we'd buy Heath to make a Steve Austin! That's pretty much a gimme.
Nick Barkley can be used for villains, as well as Jared. Audra can be the damsel of the week, and Mrs. Barkley can be Aunt May.
She'd be way prettier than Grandma Walton.JediJaidaComment

I agree that it will probably never happen. If awesome 8 inch figure lines like Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, Dark Shadows and Retro-Heroes are now either on hold or cancelled I am sure that classic TV cowboys would never have a chance. Just started this thread to see how many people there were like me that love these classic shows and would like to see figures based on them.Comment

Hogan's Heroes! A comedy with Nazis. How did that ever make it to TV? I loved that show as a kid!
Mina is the world's first Paranormal Petsitter in the new middle-grade book series by Gary Buettner, MONSTER PETS, coming in FALL 2014 from EMBY KIDS. Spooky adventure that's perfect reading for kids 8-12

I must admit; I looked at Doc's reply and thought "Huh???"
Hogan's Heroes?
I used to like the show as a kid too, and loved the reruns (even though they were cut to pieces to make room for commercials).
How about Sky King? That had western elements in it.JediJaidaComment

I don't like westerns, but I'd buy some western guys. From all the shows mentioned. I like Hogan's Heroes too. Col. Klink is cool cause he's got a monocle. Plus, having Mazis (Mego+Nazis...see what I did there? Clever huh?) would be cool so my Captain America could join up with Hogan's Heroes and kick some Mazi butt.
Besides, I need another reason to get some more figures and a western line could do the trick.
