    Star Wars EMCE

How about producing some EMCE mego-like Star Wars figures? Would this be possible, it sure would keep EMCE alive for years to come.

Guessing the EMCE peeps would have to work with Hasbro on it.

There were supposedly 9 inch ones in the works back when they were doing the DC9 stuff.

Hasbro has the worldwide license for every scale of Star War action figure. They are not interested in a sublicense for the 8-inch scale at this time. We asked.

Nice! Thx for an answer and thank you for asking them. Leave it to BBP! to get to the bottom of it.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

We have tried to "scale" the Hasbro wall several different ways through
our friends, but the answer is always the same.

When we inquired about Marvel megos - they said they already did them -
which was what we expected them to say.

While I'm disappointed, at least I know that no one else is working on it.

Doc thx for answering both the Star Wars question and the Marvel question. God knows I've pestered you about those issues.

We literally have "Star Wars Beans" but Retro-Mego figures are out of the question. First Mattel now this. It's been a rough couple of weeks.

That's too bad...and kinda weird, seeing how they have allowed Sideshow and Gentle Giant to make 12" figures.

I heard this story from a guy who heard from the cousin of

The story I heard was that Lucas wanted to see the characters done
in the highly detailed premium format and Hasbro had no interest in that,
so it was farmed out to Sideshow.

The answer is simple, petition George Lucas himself. It seems he has a lot of control over the toy license and I bet he would enjoy seeing his characters brought to life in the 8 inch Mego format. With the re-release of the Star Wars movies using 3D, I thnk George might go for some Retro- Action Star Wars. An 8 inch format would bridge the gap between the traditional 3-4 inch plastic figures and the 12 inch highly detailed figures and create an affordable action figure kids can pose and play with for hours.

To be honest, with all the SW stuff coming out and already on shelves, I think us Mego lovers aren't very high on George's priority list...
