I would love to see both Hawkman & Plastic-Man.

I'd like Hawkman to have a bare torso & molded "backpack-style" wings. I think folded Super Powers-type wings could fit into an Emce blister.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Kids today would just laugh at that and not even want one.

I am absolutely SURE his flesh shirt/skin will be removable like in Martian Manhunter. His harness would look a lot like in MM only yellow instead of red. I insist his wings will come from the DCUC Hawkman as these are: 1) already available, 2) in scale and retractable so won't require that much packaging space and 3) is consistent with what has been done so far (for example Retro Action GL & Sinestro Lanterns come from the DCUC figures).

Furthermore, Mattel had already launched female figures so a Hawkman & Hawkgirl is a possibility now for any wave or even exclusive set... I'm telling you, I see them coming real soon... It would even fulfill the Released/Never Released by Mego pattern seen on every wave so far in a wave let's say with Robin and Joker...

They can laugh all they want.... it doesn't change the visual.

It's all about proportion for me.

Kid or adult view...there is NO way that a bandolieer type thingy
looks RIGHT on a bare chested Mego or Mattel body unless it's designed a LOT thinner than what they've done for Martian Manhunter...

The only way a kid would laugh or put down that flesh cloth option is because of the need to not have flesh cloth represent skin instead of
molded plastic that looks anatomically correct but is too small (mmmkay)...
the suits are tighter these days anyways..... and look more like
skin than the Mego era's do.

It'd suck if I (and others) had to ADD a flesh part to the Hawkman outfit
if the above scenario was the case.

And it would also suck for those of us who hate the skinned outfits to have it that way to make our figures look poor. I still think they should make it like they did with Martian Manhunter to please everyone. I took my skinned outfit off my Manhunter right away and I love it that way. I would be very unhappy if my Hawkman (a figure I have wanted for over 30 years) had a skinned chest. I really hope he is made so we can have the more realistic chest showing for those of us who want it. It can be made to please everyone...like Manhunter was made.

Actually we should Martian Manhunter to Mattel both ways and they
decided that the figure looked too cheap bare skinned. Thankfully
they took our suggestions that the shorts and harness go over the
bodysuit - so fans could remove the bodysuit and display him au natural.

Well, there's undeniable proof that Mattel has some good sense
in their "higher ups staff" for certain key decisions... any other choice
              and I'd be quite wary.

Given what we've heard about the packaging limitations on the Retro line, I think our best bet for a Hawkman/Hawkwoman would be as a special boxed two pack via Matty Collector (maybe with a tiny Atom on Hawkman's shoulder!).

If Batman was limited in the size of ears and removable helmet Manta wasn't possible because they couldn't fit in the standardized blister, then I can't imagine how they would fit the Hawk's Helmet and Wings into regular blister and still do them justice.

The flat foldout wings were a good solution for Monarch, but I'd kind of like to see big fluffy wings with some substance to them, as they are in the comics.

Hawkman and Hawkgirl are screaming to be made.....the wings will have to be done right though...no cheap thin knock offs....packaging is going to be a problem for sure

What do folks feel about wings like these ones? Is it "Retro" Enough?

This pinwheel style wouldn't really work for the Hawks.

It's kind of hard to imagine what Mego would have done back in the day... cloth over wire with screen printed "feathers"?

Doc Mego's soft foam wings display nice, but I'm not quite sure they have the proper play value for a mass market toy. If I were a kid, I'd want them to fold out into flight mode.

Those Doc wings look more retro than the DCUC ones. Mattel probably won't want to use Doc's stuff for the finished product.

"Thin" is what would help packaging.... cheap or otherwise.

I'm not looking for miracalous wings... just ones that do the job...
almitysufx did thin wings even withOUT wire on his Vulture custom
...and it looked/looks spectacular w/out being overbearing.

                          Options

Hawkman is typically shown these days with a hairy chest. Would they print chest hair on the skin shirt and then put the harness over it? Or would that be too Austin Powers? Or too Village People?

If they did a figure of the Starman currently in Justice League comics, I would assume they would do a blue skin shirt. But would he have a chest gem on the shirt and another on the chest? Or just on the chest and a skin shirt with a hole in it? Or a gem on the shirt and on the chest?

Just a couple of things to think about.
