Update on the North Little Rock, Arkansas Store.... Sad to see...

While visiting my Mom this weekend we swung by the TRU in NLR and was very disappointed. All they had on hand were:

    1 Sinestro for 19.99

1 TZ The Devil with a really banged up card for 14.98

1 VB Brock hiding at the bottom of a shelf also for 14.98

    1 Peter Venkman 19.99

So sad to know that there is so much Re-Mego product out there but the only toy chain store doesn't have any in stock and what they do have is sad examples.

So much for catching them in the wild.

When I was in Fall River MA the guy who claims he does the ordering told me the figures are not TRU exclusive, he told me all TRU exclusive say it on the package and he's seen them in other stores, of course I tried to explain to but he insisted I'm wrong and his store isn't carry them any more. I only seen wave 1 at that store so I guess they aint getting any more.

I have not seen any other waves except at one store in Franklin MA that I found the flash at but that's it and I've been to may TRU's in my area and most have no idea what I'm asking for when I ask about these.

Was at Oxford Valley Mall TRU near Philly and they had no RA, EMCE or BBP figures at all. The only peg for anything 8" was an empty Ghostbusters. I don't care for them coz that franchise was after my day, but they seem to be selling well.
On the other hand, the Franklin Mills TRU in Philly just has the same few Venture Bros figures gathering dust and dings since X-mas. Even at $14.99 nobody's buying
It irks the frag outta me that when an assortment sells quick, like Twilight Zone or WGSH Wave 2, you'll have a slim chance of ever finding them again in the same store. Around here anyway

I have a very close friend who works at TRU. Since the first wave hit the shelves she has called me whenever new Retro figures arrived. In the time since the first wave released she has called me only four times. Her location has never received anything past wave 2 and only got 2 cases of each wave. At least she is very honest in telling me that TRU will not order anymore until the SKU is sold out. Thanks to a couple of peg warmers they will not get restocked.

I don't think wave 4 has been seen at any TRU yet.

Stopped by TRU today, again, just to check. They have had the same, one Lex figure, for about two months. I only EVER saw one Aquaman, and nothing since. Hopefully I have just been missing the new stuff they put on the pegs, and they have been selling. Not sure.

I have a TRU a few blocks from my house in Staten Island. I also check other TRUs in Brooklyn and SI once or twice a month. All they have is Lex and Sinestro still marked up to $22.99. This is ridiculous, considering they were 19.99 when Wave 1 came out. The TRUs all had stacks of Gremlins, which sold out when they reduced them to $14.99. I got one of those. I saw one Cheetah last month. The card had a bend in the corner. A week later it was gone. My wife found a Black Mantis and bought it for my birthday. I also got a $50 TRU gift card for my birthday last week. I tried to use it on TRU this morning. The only two figures they have that I want ar Kanamit and the Cheetah. However, you have to spend $75 to get free shipping. I'm hoping they add some Wave 4 DCs to the website, so I can get my order price above $75.

Yes, it is very interesting. If anyone from Mattel read all of the posts on this thread and many others, they would see that distribution is the problem. People were driving miles from TRU to TRU, and were unable to find any.
The other complaint was the price. $20.00 is steep.
In this economy, with people unemployed or underemployed or just getting by, it's hard to spend $20 on a luxury item. It's hard for kids to come up with that much. I had to wait for Christmas, b-day, or Fathers day to get some of mine, especially from the internet when shipping is $10 more.
Mattel is blaming lack of interest on us, and that is just crap. It was poor business on their part!

Yeah, don't hold your breath on that one. The exact same thing happened with Mattel's 2002 relaunch of Masters of the Universe, and they STILL blame lack of fan support for it.

Another problem is Mattel's pack-out ratios. It is what killed the 2002 MOTU line and what has damaged most of the DC lines since Mattel got the license. Way too many villains were packed in the cases. For completests, it's great. But at $20 a pop, a lot of folks opted only to get the heroes. This left Lex and Sinestro clogging up the shelves. Then TRUs would pass over new assortments due to this.

Why they can't learn from their mistakes, I'll never understand. You would think all of those orange glow Skeletors would have taught them something.

I have been to all 9 TRU stores in the Central Florida area. There are 3 Sinestros and 3 Luthors in Gainesville.....and I found an Aquaman on Colonial (last one) and Capt Cold in Sanford. Other than that NOTHING. Now in some of the stores they dont even have the peg up anymore. To be honest the $20 is not so bad.....If I am driving all over the place do you think I say no when I see one because of $20? Botched....Botched I tell ya....
