Don't you love the way Neil Adams drew those characters.

I'm still bummed DCD never made a Neil Adams wave. This would be a GREAT idea for Mattel as Batman could be sold again in a later wave to keep interest and sales in the line. Perhaps this time with a molded cowl. One thing I've learned in my years of toy collecting...Batman sells!

        That said...

I tend to only really enjoy talking about the ol' "Mego Era Characters that
Mego didn't make" --- just one look at my customs collection
and you can see it somewhat "in effect".

        I hear ya.

Even so... if they made him w/the maroon "LOD" color shirt, it'd
be preferable to "Alien silver robot" Brainiac because I fall more
on "tail end of the Silver Age" in the boundary drawing,
than "tail end" Bronze Age which the SUPER POWERS era
seems to be a part of.
        Agreed on all remarks here!

just FYI on your ?... Mera is Aquaman's wife....

... not too prominent in this era's DCU cartoons (Mera was on JL once)... but in the 1960s, Filmation made an Aquaman cartoon with Mera in it for almost every episode.... that's where us guys in our 30s and 40s
remember her best from.... and the 1960s cartoon was so popular w/kids
in the 1970s that if Mego woulda released her, no one would've
          questioned it.

Mera also had the honor of being a "SUPER QUEEN" which was a series
of dolls with only 3 other gals in it... and those are so old, they might have
even preceded Mego... no easy feat in the old days, not like today, when
just about everyone in the DCU has had a figure made of 'em.

            I agree.

            Scarecrow, Robin, Hawkman, Gentleman Ghost

...that's a guess from me on what WAVE 5 might ACTUALLY be...

Oh yeah! I'm with you on that! Here is hope that Mattel won't do Robin with the silly hair curls Mego gave him!

Based on who they are pushing these days, we have Brightest Day, War of the Green Lanterns and Flashpoint.
I'm thinking Hawkman and (I hope) Gentleman Ghost.

The other 2 figures are up in the air. So far they haven't done any secondary (sidekick) figures. No Robin, Speedy, Lois Lane, Aqualad.

Booster Gold has been getting more and more play. And he has become one of my favorite characters. He is involved in Brightest Day and Flashpoint. I'd love to see them do Booster and Skeets.

Silly hair curls..?...That's how Robin looked in the first Batman comics......I hope Mattel is smart enough to notice that....and do the head sculpt as well as Mego did....I think Robin was one of the best figures Mego produced.

If Mattel does a Robin, the real question is: removable mask?

I would say NO to a removable mask for Robin. It serves no purpose unless they come with Alter Ego clothing, plus it just doesn't look as good as the painted on.

Robin didn't have the parted hair in the comics until a few years after Burt Ward

I am going to predict Hawkman, Robin, Harleyquin, and Hawkgirl. I wonder if a Gentlemen Ghost was made if he would be made of clear plastic?

And that's exactly how I, me, myself, yo, wouldn't like him to look like... Plus that Batman doesn't look a bit like the one Mattel made either... So yes, my vote is for parted hair Robin like in the DC Direct 1:6 Robin (maybe a bit shorter) or like in Burt Ward Robin.

I'd actually like to see them do the head as a neck plug that has the high collar from the cape in back connected to the top hat and monacle. I think that is how they did other figures of him.

Or if they want to leave off the collar, just do a white wire going up the back to the top hat and one in front made to look like the string hanging from his monacle I guess.

I think I'd be OK if they had him carry the top hat and just had the monacle on a string/wire.

The cane would be cool. A sword cane would be even cooler.
