As much disdain as I have for newer costumes for these figs...
newer characters NOT "so" much... I have to admit.... a (good) Harley
would be delightful... she's sooooo iconic that it almost seems like
    she's been around forever anyways

I won't make a "prediction"... but of my FAVORITE more popular
characters, the ones I'd like to see would be:

    1) HAWKMAN (one of the hardest to customize all these years)
    2) BRAINIAC (a big SUPES foe finally made!---better be in pink tho!)
    3) PLASTIC MAN (Just love the character...
and he's got a lot of popularity goin on)
    4) MERA (Grew up watchin her on the 60s cartoon...
would love to see more Aqua-characters!)
    5) CATWOMAN (as much as I hate "repeats" of the Mego line,
the PURPLE DRESS CATWOMAN is begging to be made!)

SCARECROW, PARASITE, POISON IVY, GIGANTA, GRUNDY,
WEATHER WIZARD, GRODD, RA'S AL GUHL are all pretty popular
and very anticipated by me as possibilities (I'm more into villains than
getting ATOM, BLACK CANARY, HAWKGIRL or the like...which are cool,
and I'd purchase.... but I love those villains more!).

    and finally...
GENTLEMAN GHOST, DR. SIVANA, and MERLYN THE ARCHER...
who, on their own may not be great sellers, but have great
arch heroes to pair up with (assuming H-MAN is made!)---and I just
    lerrrrve me those DCU villains.

METALLO seems to be getting a lotta mileage these days too...

Count me in the camp that would like to see some more modern figures. I think the order in which these are released will be directly connected to how well the more modern GL figures do with Yellow Sinestro and Guy Gardner. I realize that traditional, classic characters need to be addressed like Hawkman, Atom, Joker and Robin. My selfish picks would be Booster Gold, Deathstroke, Zatanna and Bizarro. I have a feeling that all of the upcoming wave have been mentioned somewhere in this thread collectively.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

Thanks Lou... just as you added a disclaimer (they seem to be necessary in these epic topics), I'd add the disclaimer, that this musing of mine
is tempered with the knowledge that "business is business"
and some musings are just unapproachable as a reality at this point.

          That said...

I tend to only really enjoy talking about the ol' "Mego Era Characters that
Mego didn't make" --- just one look at my customs collection
and you can see it somewhat "in effect".

          I hear ya.

Even so... if they made him w/the maroon "LOD" color shirt, it'd
be preferable to "Alien silver robot" Brainiac because I fall more
on "tail end of the Silver Age" in the boundary drawing,
than "tail end" Bronze Age which the SUPER POWERS era
seems to be a part of.

I particularly love the idea of a "Mera Mego".

It seems like a special (if not an unwise) choice... in that,
in 2011, Mera seems kinda lost in the "DCU shuffle",
but during the Mego era (and directly preceding that era),
Mera got a lot of mileage from the Filmation series.

Mera had a big showing lately in series like Blackest Night and played a big role. I'd love to have a Mego like Mera and I'd also love to see Catwoman with her Purple outfit. The one I'd love to see EMCE do is the one that Catwoman appearance in the silver age for the 1st time. It's Lois Lane 24 I think. I love that look for Catwoman.

I thought about "Mera in the comics" when I made my last post...

...and, honestly whether it was Mera's big character arc in
60s Aquaman comics (wasn't that the era with her and Arthur having
all the "family" problems? Or was it a bit later, in the actual Mego era comics?)

....or whether it's this recent Blackest Night story involvement...

...I do wonder how much impact the comic prescence/popularity has
compared to T.V. and other media appearances....

...that said, I think Mera's a neat character... and I'll take her anyway I can get her!

Yeah I guess that's true. The comics won't make a big difference compared to tv or other media. I think the family troubles were in the late 60s or early 70s. She had a crazy period in the 90s too.

Would you rather Wave 5 have ALL NEW charaters that Mego NEVER made....or remakes of figures we already have ?

                      I would rather ALL new characters.....Plasticman / Hawkman / Brainiac / Mr Freeze..........and 7" Robin as a Matty Exclusive.

I would rather not see only new characters. I want Mattel to do every character Mego did. The new versions don't look right next to the old Megos so I want new versions of Joker,Penguin,Riddler,Robin,Batgirl,Supergirl,Catw oman and Mr. Mxyzptlk to go with these newer updates. I actually think Robin may be a new body because I think he would have been out before Shazam or Martian Manhunter if they were going with a regular body. I think Mattel will insist on that. Not making a new body for Darkseid is one thing...he's a for sure peg warmer...but Robin is a major big gun. I think for him they will make a shorter body. Lets also remember how much a Robin body can be reused for say Superboy and others. Even Penguin if they add a stuffed outfit. I would much rather see Robin in a 7" body. It was one of the biggest complaints about the original Megos that Robin wasn't in scale. Mattel would be silly to repeat the mistake.

As for new characters...I want them too. No reason we can't have both. Modern Age though I won't buy. Hate everything Modern Age.

                          I heartily disagree.

I'd say it's airtight matches, that displaying a mix of the figures to anyone
NOT reading this.... you know, anyone who didn't grow up obsessing on Megos would go along with easily. I'll go along too despite my upbringing!

You'll get 'em (except maybe Myx), but for business reasons (not
particularly consistency with the newer non-Mego produced characters).

It will have at least one redo from Mego, just like all the other waves have. I really don't think we will see an all repro wave as some have picked in this thread.

Never heard of Mera. I doubt Mattel will make a different body anytime soon.

I could see Robin/Joker with Supergirl/Brainiac, but they might throw in a wildcard.. like Darkseid was. Personally I would like to se Dr Fate, the Spectre or Blue Beetle.
