what megolike figures would your KIDS like to see made?
Given the fact that one of the biggest toy companies is making Retro DC Superheroes and Ghostbusters for THE major toy retailer, I'd say the kids are getting well serviced this round.
The niche manufacturers with distribution aimed at the collectors market are servicing their respective markets just fine. Plus new markets are being explored with interesting things like the Presidents and Venture Brothers to diversify the collector base.
It's Hasbro and Marvel that need to get in the game to ratchet this up.
You really want this thing to explode? Find the next "Twilight" type license.
(I have no idea what Beastly is, but maybe BBP knows something we don't?)
How about a Mego that transforms into a car or a plane? Bet kids would love that!
My son would like video game characters, like Legend of Zelda.
I agree,i think characters based on video games and anime might attract kids.things like pokemon, Naruto, Zelda, Mario, street fighter and other fighting game characters.
"Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of Doom
Right now the most played with toys in my house are: World of Cars, Thomas & Friends, My Little Pony, Toy Story, Imaginext Batcave & characters. Most of these by my 5 year old. My 8 year old tends to like to hang out with the ponies or her stuffed animals. Re-Mego was hot for awhile, but she doesn't play with them so much as pick them up once in a while and adjust their clothes, etc. My son likes to do stories once in a while and most of the characters have now migrated to his room, but truthfully they are not the go to toy right now. However, Cars took a hiatus as a go to toy for about a year and then they came out from their boxes non-stop about a month ago, so I am sure that he will decide that Big Batman should be played with more rather than little Batman, too. And then it could flip back again. who knows?
My daughter would probably love a re-visit to the Archie characters. She is big on reading the digests right now. She is also into reading Tiny Titans big time, but that wouldn't translate to re-mego.

I'm surprised nobody's done this one yet. Seems obvious, ready market and they could be sold through mail order like the books. Plus Archie (and Scooby-Doo) gives you a chance to cash in on kids AND parental nostalgia. (And we've already seen that Scoob could be done quite effectively....)
Archie seems to still be popular in the midwest (and this is based on what I've been by a friend of mine who draws Archie comics). He says when he goes to a convention in Chicago or Detroit, he sells hand over fist. At the NYCC, SDCC, or Philly, not so much. It certainly would be an interesting experiment.
The digests have print runs of around 190,000 every month, so I think they're probably popular in a few places. Archie's one of them ubiquitous sort of characters that'll ALWAYS exist in some form.
I couldn't believe it...I asked my friends son and he said "Big Bang Theory". I guess she got him the seasons over Christmas because he started watching on Thursdays at night. I have to agree though! Sheldon could come dressed in a Flash T-Shirt.
