    Martian Manhunter and Black Adam!

Black Adam arrived today and, along with Martian Manhunter, comprised a big part of my 40th birthday (the other part was the complete Six Million Dollar Man series on dvd--c'mon guys this show is SCREAMING for Re-Megos).

These guys are pitch perfect: I wasn't sold on the gold, but seeing it in person makes a big difference. It's a lot brighter than the photos show, and displays very well. Adam's neck size has been another concern, and in my opinion is a non-issue---the proportions look fine to my eyes. I love the headsculpt on Adam; he looks exactly like he did when I first encountered him in a reprint of some 40s era Shazam stories.

J'Onn is fantastic! I think he may be my favorite figure in the line. His sculpt, the vividness of his colors, and the solidness of the figure make him fit in perfectly with my Megos of old. He's just outstanding!

I could never have imagined that I'd get new 'Megos' for a birthday again, some thirty years or so since the last time Megos were a birthday present. To all who made it possible, THANK YOU!

    Now bring on Captain Marvel!

Oops! I should have pointed out that Mr. Mind didn't come with Adam---he came with a DC Direct figure a few years back.

These last two waves have really done a great job of winning over the nay-sayers and delivering what we want! Good on ya, Mattel.

What's up with the long neck on BA?

His neck doesn't look too long to me. I think his collar might contribute to that impression, but if you pull his collar up to his neck line and compare him to other figures you'll see that his neck is fine as far as proportions go. It may be throwing some people off that the figure is based on the early appearance of Black Adam---he is on model, imo.

I don't think it is too long Boywonder, as I've already said numerous times, I think Black Adam's outfit just needs to be pulled up a smidge, right up to the head/neck line, and it won't have that illusion of a long neck. Further proof that his outfit simply needs to be pulled up would be to look at BA's chest bolt, that also is too low on his chest, actually touching his belt.

I really like the way Martian Manhunter looks, even if I'm unfamiliar w/ the character.
