Thanks for the correction. I thought he was more. I'm probably thinking of the inflated price he goes for on Doc Megos site.
My apologies

No one's forcing anyone to collect them all. Of course they're going to try and find ways to reuse costumes, they're already doing it with bodies. That's how toy companies operate. Even one of, if not the first, John Stewart figures produced by DC Direct reused the body/painted costume from the Hal Jordan figure.Leave a comment:

Well Brian, I will say I have read a lot of people complaining about head sculpts, outfits, bodies, etc. so I know what you speak of. For me it's simply displeasure with a specific character selection. I just think with an enormous DC Universe of characters to pick from, they shouldn't already be doing something like popping a different head on Wave 1 GLs and peddling them for another $20. Aside from that, I adore this line thus far and can easily just ignore these GL exclusives.Leave a comment:

You know, it is pretty cool to have another 8" black superhero to collect, or play with. There was only The Falcon back in the day.
African American kids were short changed. The few black superheroes in the comics were never made into Megos, just the Falcon.

Well Brian, I have offered nothing but great praise and expressed nothing but great joy over the Retros here. Each and every one of my posts RAVED about the line. I suppose "Epic Fail" is a bit over-the-top but that was more my own personal opinion of the character selection which, to me, is an epic fail. That doesn't mean a gazillion of these won't sell, they probably will. So that remark was describing my personal opinion of the character selection. As far as any other negative remarks, I haven't made any because I am in love with this line. This is my first complaint about the Retros thus far so it's not like I'm here bashing the line every day...quite the contrary sir.Leave a comment:

Lou, your statement came across like outrage and I do find that ridiculous.
To be honest, I looked at it and thought "neat but I don't want one" so I share your POV but we live in a time where we're getting an 8" John Stewart offered to us and that is an age that I like being in.
Sorry if their character selection causes such displeasure but I'm finding a sad trend in people accentuating absolutely every negative possible. Maybe it's not for you, but EPIC FAIL is kind of over the top IMO.Leave a comment:

I myself was never really into any type of Green Lantern.
I hardly know who Sinestro is, and maybe that why the pegs a TRU are loaded with him.
But that head with the Afro definitely gives me that custom Black Lightning idea, but at $20.00 I won't be doing that either. Maybe if someone ever has an extra head to sell.

Yeah Austin, Green Arrow was $20 plus shipping but still, your point is very valid, why spend $20 on the same figure just because he has a different head? The obvious reasoning is it's a clever marketing move by Mattel along the same lines as repaints from other toy lines. I guess if enough of these sell they will give the line overall more longevity which would be a good thing. As I said though, for me, I was hoping this would be the first toy line since Mego where I really wanted to "collect 'em all"...not the case anymore after seeing this offering.Of course I'd completely forgot about the GL exclusive set and I'm so sorry I was reminded of it today.

I like him! I'll be refreshing my browser like crazy to get one when they are offered.Leave a comment:

Not ridiculous Brian. As Megoheads we want to "collect 'em all" so when a figure that you despise is introduced to a line, it kind of stinks because there's no way in hell I'm spending $20 on another GL with a different head. Besides, "outrage" is a bit dramatic. "Displeased" is a more apt description of my emotions my friend.

IIRC, Green Arrow was $20 on Matty Collector, each and every time he sold on the site.Leave a comment:

If it's a Matty exclusive it will be a lot more than $20. Wasn't Green Arrow like $40 or more?
Why would you pay a premium for basicallly the same figure that came out in wave one?Leave a comment:

Part of the reason why I think it's a poor choice. I suspect there's many Mego-era folks who aren't familiar with Jon Stewart which kind of begs my initial question again...why? My only real exposure to the character was the JL/JLU series. Aside from that I had long outgrown reading comic books by the time this character was introduced.Leave a comment:
