Well Brian, I have offered nothing but great praise and expressed nothing but great joy over the Retros here. Each and every one of my posts RAVED about the line. I suppose "Epic Fail" is a bit over-the-top but that was more my own personal opinion of the character selection which, to me, is an epic fail. That doesn't mean a gazillion of these won't sell, they probably will. So that remark was describing my personal opinion of the character selection. As far as any other negative remarks, I haven't made any because I am in love with this line. This is my first complaint about the Retros thus far so it's not like I'm here bashing the line every day...quite the contrary sir.

Well Lou, my last statement was speaking to a growing concern I have, not "Lou is a jerk who bashes everything" but this just tells me my tolerance for such negativity is at all time low and I should take off. Obviously my problem, carry on.Well Brian, I have offered nothing but great praise and expressed nothing but great joy over the Retros here. Each and every one of my posts RAVED about the line. You know, it is pretty cool to have another 8" black superhero to collect, or play with. There was only The Falcon back in the day.
African American kids were short changed. The few black superheroes in the comics were never made into Megos, just the Falcon.

Well Brian, I will say I have read a lot of people complaining about head sculpts, outfits, bodies, etc. so I know what you speak of. For me it's simply displeasure with a specific character selection. I just think with an enormous DC Universe of characters to pick from, they shouldn't already be doing something like popping a different head on Wave 1 GLs and peddling them for another $20. Aside from that, I adore this line thus far and can easily just ignore these GL exclusives.Comment

No one's forcing anyone to collect them all. Of course they're going to try and find ways to reuse costumes, they're already doing it with bodies. That's how toy companies operate. Even one of, if not the first, John Stewart figures produced by DC Direct reused the body/painted costume from the Hal Jordan figure.Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

Thanks for the correction. I thought he was more. I'm probably thinking of the inflated price he goes for on Doc Megos site.

I actually like the figure. i would buy him long before I would buy Guy Gardner. besides, John Stewart was one of the original five mentioned for this line. the 70's look of the character goes hand in hand with the retro look of the toys.Comment

Very true Del. No one is saying we're being "forced" to buy anything. All I said was if one wants to "collect 'em all" they either have to buy a figure they dislike or not "collect 'em all." So I'm not saying we're being forced to "collect 'em all"...conversely we are kind of being forced not to "collect 'em all" unless we start buying figures we dislike. That's all I was saying. Of course we can refuse to buy anything we choose not to. After decades of collecting toy lines where there seems to always be figures in the set that I didn't want to buy, I was hoping (based on the excellence of the Retro line so far) that I finally did have a toy line where I truly wanted all the figures. That's no longer the case after being reminded of these GL offerings so it's a bit disappointing to me personally is all. I'm sure many more people are thrilled to death with this figure and will buy this figure than not anyway so I'm sure I'm the minority on this. My opinion really means nothing anyway. Whatever keeps the line going...I'd still rather not collect 'em all than see the Retro line get cancelled. No one's forcing anyone to collect them all. Decent resin heads alone are 10 to 20 bucks. Then you gotta find a suit, paint, and body. Even if you cast your own stuff, sew, and paint you can't do a decent custom for under 20 dollars."Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."Comment

Totally agree! That alone makes the Figures worth $20.00 . Sure we're not going to like every Figure they make...but the ones I do like, are worth it just for the Head, Hands, & Costume. .
