Anyone buying figures they don't love just to buy them?

I really just want to get the Planet of the Apes and Star Trek lines completed because I could never dare afford originals and I've wanted them for 25 years.
But Black Manta, Ming, and Barnabus Collins look really good. I have not seen them in person. I was going to get Luthor but in person I didnt like him.
However I cant imagine having much self control if Classic Dr Who comes out .

I've totally given up on Star Wars figures now as it became just impossible to get all the new figures...it was good when it was first starting but is such a jugganaut now I can't afford the money or space to keep up...but I used to religiously buy the figuresd whether I liked them or not.
Am more selective now on what I buy except the Doctor Who stuff which as long as the classics stay at the rate of release as they are now i'll be able to keep up and have the space.
