Just got back from the TRU in Smyrna GA (Cumberland Mall) and on the pegs they had figures from Wave 1 & 2 and then several rows away by the Batman B&B figures they had the Wave 3 figures lined out on a shelf! All the Characters are there...I only bought a WW (the one without the "belly" emblem). So any of you guys here around Atlanta that may need them, you can probably pick them up.

Was VERY surprised to see Wave 3 today at my TRU! They still had one poor Lex Luthor floating around also but there were 6 Flash, 4 Captain Cold, 2 Wonder Woman and 1 Cheetah. I grabbed a Cold and Cheetah.
Originally I only wanted a Cold but when I saw Cheetah I was impressed. No so much with WW...She looked sort of gawky up close. Her hands are small and her arms were apparently bend backwards at the elbows in the package. I really liked the head and the boots on the Flash but I have a custom one that I think will do just fine.
The qty on the pegs of each character made me question...How are these being packed per case? Did someone really go to town on all of the Cheetahs and WW, leaving the dudes, especially the Flash to warm the pegs? Or are the females short-packed?0Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

The South Philly TRU only had a couple Sinestros and an Aquaman. They also had a Twilight Zone figure and Venture Bros Monarch figure (which I bought). If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.Comment

Took the family out to eat and promised the girl a trip to TRU. One Wonder Woman on the peg, which was perfect since that's who she has a little shrine built around.
After opening, I find it to the best construction yet.
Universal, Zone and Venture were on the pegs, also. I don't care for Venture and there's something...common?...generic?...about the Universal figures. I may get them someday, but they moved considerably down in priority. Zone would be nice as Halloween decorations, but not at 20 a pop.Comment

I got them tonight in NEPA.
I love them all, except my Cheeta looks like she is lactating..
She has two wet spots on the front bubble, when I squeeze the bubble it goes away, I let it go back to normal there are two wet spots where her boobs rest against the bubble.
LynnOur TRU had one WW, one Cheetah, at least 3 Flashes, and 2 Captain Colds. I just can't get enthused enough about the Flash figure to buy him, but I really want the rest of this wave. The WW was standing really funny in her package, so I'm going to try and get one that looks a little better, because I've been leaving the characters that were part of the vintage line on the card. One Capt Cold was leaning on the bubble and had paint wear where it touched, much like the first wave. The other had some pink paint or something on his boot, so I had to pass on him this time around. Still, it was nice to see the entire wave in person. I really like the Cheetah, especially those funky boots. I'll have to make sure she doesn't end up fighting my Pam Grier custom for them!
I took these pics in the store.
After opening her this morning, I took these of Cheetah next to the original Mego Wonder Woman.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?
Check out my customs!

Still no wave 2...by the looks of it we won't get wave 3 until 2012. Toys R Us, just sad and pathetic. BTW, Twilight Zone figures and Venture's were on the shelf a few weeks ago...haven't seen them since...but still no Monsters."When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".

The St Peters Toys-R-Us got in wave one and still has some, never got in wave 2, and then got in wave 3. So they got in wave 3 even with old stock of wave 1 still there. Wave 2 only showed up at the Toys-R-Us Express at the mall during Christmas.
One thing I did notice, I saw a couple people mention Wonder Womans arms possibly being on backwards. The WW figures I saw had their elbows bent a little backwards, the arms were not on backwards, more like she was slightly double jointed in the elbows which allowed her arms to bend a little too far backward.Comment

Been checking my little Toys R Us in Boynton Beach with no luck. I drove to Wellington and my heart sank when I saw about a dozen figures...all Lex and Sinestro. Had a few extra minutes on Sunday so I tried Boynton again and there they were!
Picked up another set as I wanted a few to display carded. The only one I wasn't completely thrilled with was WW. Hopefully, I can futz her emblem a bit or else open my other one.
They still have all but Cheetah. Really nice to find these at retail and support the line.
Now if they will just reduce Sinestro...Comment

Went to Toys R Us, Peabody, MA the other day. They had all of Series 3, but I couldn't buy a single one. They had just hung these figures on the pegs within a day, but already, the cards they came on had dings or bent corners, both Captain Colds had paint rubs on their noses or the fur on their hoods, Cheetah had the nipple effect where apparently the liquid condensation inside these packages stains the clothing, Wonder Women was just scrunched into the bubble and looked awkward (terrible lipstick application to boot), Flash also had paint rubs on his head, and if you can find a figure that doesn't have any of those problems, then you have to be sure there are no soot marks on the heads. So many of the figures I see, including the RGB, have these black soot-looking streaks or marks on their heads. I don't know where they come from or how they got there, but Luthor (especially) in Wave 1 suffered from the same problem. Hopefully, Mattel is aware of these problems and is working to resolve them. It's costing them sales.Comment

I went today and they had a bunch more of wave 3 out as well as wave 2.
The two WW they had had bad runs in the red part of the outfit.
They also had a bunch of the Retro Ghost busters and Venture Bros or what ever they are called.

Went to TRU again today to see if I could score my Wonder Woman and Cheetah and my wife immediately spotted Wonder Woman hanging there!!! YAYYYYY right?!
No. The Wonder Woman was all messed up. Her lasso was undone and her belt was up to her breasts. The chest emblem was weird looking too. To top it off, no Cheetah. So I thought it was going to be a good day but alas, my search continues. That's the fun of it all though isn't it?
I asked the TRU employee if there were any more and she punched it into the register and said there were "21 on the floor." So counting the 1 Green Lantern they had there, the 1 Wonder Woman, the 4 Lex and 5 Sinestro, that makes 11...so I went back and asked the girl where might the other 10 figures be in the store...her reply was "probably stolen." I doubt 10 Retros were shoplifted but they did have like 8 Ghostbusters and 2 Twilight Zone guys there so perhaps they have all the Reto Action figures as one inventory number or something. I hope not because those 8 Ghostbusters have been hanging there awhile and I hope they aren't basing Hero sales based on Ghostbusters. I doubt it though.
I have a feeling there will be more Wave 3 next week, I only hope I can score a nice WW...has anyone gotten a perfect one yet where everything was nice on her inside the bubble?Last edited by LOU; Jan 25, '11, 7:42 PM.Comment
