For my expectations as a collector, quality is #1, availability is #1-A. I haven't gotten any of Wave 3 or 4 yet but everyone says the body issues have been fixed. (In comparison, I got a Castaway Phantom and was blown away by the quality).
I haven't bought a molded figure in over 15 years, so I don't bother with the other DC lines, but I'm impressed by their character selection.
I'd love to have a Mego style Spectre, Deadman and Eclipso as well as Enemy Ace, Swamp Thing, Jonah Hex, Sgt Rock and as many Golden Age JSA versions as possible, Watchmen, all of which I just mentioned is impossible I'm sure.
I prefer Mego boxes, but blister cards the same size as original Megos with the proper era character logos on the cards would be nice

The only thing I would really like is for something to hold them inside the bubble. I don't know what you call it but every action figure out there today has one. Sometimes they twist tie the figure in so it doesn't rub or slip or whatever in the package. Probably keeps them safer. It for sure displays nicer in the package. I know it's not very "Retro" though but presentation is everything.

Otherwise I think these toys are great. They cost what I expect them to given how much DCUC are. Availability stinks for all Mattel products except Barbie so I've given up complaining about that.

Well see, to me, the gawkier the figure looks in the bubble the better, and likewise once again, this is very Mego. That's how they looked hanging in the stores back in the 70's, each figure gawky in it's own way. Are you talking about those plastic trays behind the figure, molded to the shape of the figure? Like the Star Wars figures have? That would probably make the figures themselves more expensive. I think they are trying to stay faithful to Mego in every way possible and I think that's super cool. So I can see why the figures are loose in the bubble.

Mego figures were very inexpensive. So with the "flaws" being Mego-like, the price should reflect the poor quality. Mattel is a doll company and should have quality with the Retro-Action line on a par with the other dolls they produce. They charge less for dolls than action figures, and have the Retro-Action line priced with the action figures. If they were priced reflecting the other dolls they sell, they would cost around $10.
