Flash Gordon is here!

I got my cases of Flash Gordon today, and they look awesome! The faces are so much better than the original prototype shots!

I will be shipping pre-orders out on Saturday and Monday!

i also got my set from EE,and they are cool.the thing is ,a while back i thought cast-a-way was gonna do these,and the arms on flash look like cast-a-way,but the bodies are made by emce.does anyone know the whole story?,are future figures from bif bang pow gonna use these same new arms,i am more for figures to be more classic style mego,which emce bodies are more like,as cool as cast-a-way is,i hope emce does not change the future releases.

The story with Flash Gordon goes back to July of '09. Castaway made
the announcement that they were making Flash Gordon with Bif Bang
Pow who has the license and made 7 inch plastic figures.

Last January we were contacted by BBP about making 8 inch Flash
and Ming. These figures were supposed to be at San Diego this year,
but the color of the heads was off, so BBP held them back to get
it right instead of putting out bad looking figures.

BBP wanted Flash to have more muscular arms than the standard
mego - and I had always wanted to expand the body options, so I
borrowed the LJN arms -which I thought did the muscle and swivel
best - and tooled them in China.

Now I can offer bodies in regular and muscle swivel. I have held
off getting bodies like this until BBP released Flash Gordon. They
prompted me the decision in the first place, and I don't want to
detract from any FG sales.

I'm interested in both of these figures. And I LOVE that they are Cast-A-Wayish.....the Cast-A-Way Phantom is THE best figure of ANY mego/megoish figure released....EVER.

I also, on a side note, picked up a few of the POTA EMCE releases and they are just beautiful. I REALLY wish the Mattel line was up to the standards of the Trek/Apes re-releases.....those were just done SO well and faithfully to the originals.....The Mattel ones are okay, but not on the same level.

Sounds awesome about the bodies! So does this mean that they fixed the "translucent head" issues? I have been hoping someone will post pix of the final photos.

I'd love to see pics. What I'd love even more is if that gonzo guy who was criticizing Bif Bang Pow when the first prototype photos came out were here to eat his words when he made the claim that those translucent heads would be the final product in spite of what BBP said.

Sadly, the first Flash I opened had his lower left leg put on backwards! Other than that, they are great!

Can we get a close up of the faces? That has me the most curious. My order has been slow to come in and I ordered them from Entertainment Earth before I ordered Wave 3 from Amok Time! And I've had Wave 3 for several days now!

Anyone know where I can get just a Ming figure, and not have to buy the pair? There's so much comming out right now, I can't afford it all... I wanna get some of lots of lines comming out, and so I have to cut corners here and there. I like em both, but I dig the Ming robes more than Flash.... So Ming is the one I want out of this line...
