I got real lucky on the Wave 1 figures as the comic store I found them in was having a 35% off on toys sale. Regular was $32.99 (!) and I got them for about $21.Comment

Found Retro Heroes at the Bathurst and Steeles TRU on the norther border of Toronto.
It appeared to me that the Villains must be short packed... they had one Two Face left, a peg full of Batman and about four Aquaman. A couple of Manta and the only wave 1 they had left was a single Superman.
I had already picked up Batman and Two Face at a comic shop a week ago, so I picked up Aquaman and Manta.
$22.99. The cheapest I've seen them yet in Canada. They are on International Packaging.Comment

TRU Hamilton has them. Well, they have 2 left now and those are both Batman. I got the other Batman there. I wish I had gone a few days earlier to get Aquaman and Two Face.
Edit: A big thank you to the Doc for making these a reality. It was pretty awesome finding one in an actual retail store (In Canada no less!). I think I swore out loud when it donned on me they were there.Last edited by boynightwing; Aug 20, '10, 8:06 PM.Comment

Brampton TRU had everything in stock again. Just no Lex, GL or Sinestro.the greatest Superman of all time Earth 2 SupermanComment

The lack of Lex and Sinestro might mean that they only have Superman from the first wave or perhaps that the others are extremely short-packed and snapped up right away?
One would think that Lex and Sinestro would be the easy ones to find as they are in the US TRU stores.Comment

Meetings these week have had me all over the city this week. When I'm in a area of town I dont get to much, I like to peruse the local toy stores to see whats up. This afternoon I hit the fourth of the four toys r Us stores in Calgary and area. Except for one...all of them have sold OUT of retro heroes (well, another one had 1 measly Batman left). to be honest, I never thought they would move here, since most of the collectors I've met in the area arent into older type toys..mostly Hot wheels, Marvel Legends, and Star Wars/Transformers. that means a general audience is buying them. I asked the manager in the store today whats up, and he agreed with me...didnt think they would sell all that well, yet they moved through 4 cases in approximately 3 1/2 weeks. More have been reordered from the warehouse (which had quite a few in stock yet according to him).
I honestly thought these would be peg warmers around here, due to the cost, and the lack of a big collector crowd in this arena. Guess I was wrong...so much for hoping for the el cheapo clearance prices some US members here reported for the stragglers from wave 1!"Crayons taste like purple!"Comment
