Did anyone ever consider that maybe because these figures are seriously flawed that they don't sell. Imagine if they were on a Castaway body. They would sell just for the customization of the body. I think most consumers not clouded by Megomania realize these are essentially junk bodies and refuse to continue purchasing them.

That probably is one reason that they aren't selling. However, I think Toys R Us was probably hoping that they'd sell to kids and I think the price is more of a factor there than the quality since most kids wouldn't have read about the poor quality and since wave 2 isn't out in stores yet, the poor quality of the first wave wouldn't have affected sales to kids yet (unless they bought one planning to go back for the rest and didn't because of the quality). I actually wonder who Toys R Us thought would buy more of them (adults or kids or both equally.)
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

I have not seen them marked down anywhere, and I haunt several TRUs in the PA/NJ/DE corridor. I think the markdown is an isolated incident, though given how Lex and Sinestro aren't selling like GA and Supes, I'll be stunned if they don't get marked down eventually.

Though I've seen a row of Cyborg figures at a local Target that also has yet to be marked down, so I think retailers may not be quick to reduce prices for awhile.

After reading about these figures being on clearance I rallied to our TRU here in Portland Oregon and found the same four Sinestro and Lex on the shelves, but no markdown. So they're not on clearance here, I wish they were, I'd snatch them up for $11.99 in a heart beat. Just received my Batman, Two-Face and Black Manta that I ordered off of Amazon for $19.99 with free shipping. They're pretty great and definitely have a nice Mego feel to them. The body problem is a detractor, but I think I'll try and fix those this week. I'll keep you posted. Love to hear more about these guys going on sale if anybody finds out more.

            Retro action NYC mark down

To put things in perspective....this same NYC TRU along with FAO Schwarz marked down EMCE's treks to $4 last year and they had no problems with selling or major quality control issues....this TRU needs to clear space for new stuff all the time...that's why the mark down.
