It's not a question of anger, but rather aesthetics--removable masks, even at 1/6th scale, seldom look good. You end up with either a pin-headed fig or a clunky mask... This is apparant with Mego, Hasbro, Tonner, Barbie, & Mattel retro.

No offense intended (I'm collecting in multiple the entire Retro line, despite flaws), but the new Batman is no better IMO than vintage Mego in regards to the cowl--just different.

I can understand what you mean about playability, and also a removable cowl may indeed be useful with female figures & rooted hair.

But personally I'm relieved to see Flash & Capt. Cold sculpted.

Doc indicated in an earlier thread that Manta didn't have a removable helmet due to scale & packaging--shouldn't this continue to be a consideration?

Hawkman is perhaps the only other fig that could benefit from a separate cowl, considering the size & complexity of his helmet.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

I want them anyway they make them! My vote for must have removable cowls are Hawkman and Hawkgirl!

So even though it promises to be tricky and is rarely ever executed well, removable masks for Batgirl, Catwoman & Hawkgirl please!

But doesn't this discussion beg the question, if you have a removable mask for Batman, why not Flash? Where is the line drawn (GL or Robin, Cheetah or Capt. Cold, etc.)?
Flash doesn't have a cape that gathers up around the neck to work with the silhouette of the mask. When posed properly, at the risk of sounding overproud, the silhouette of this figure is just great. On Flash, it would have seemed even ore helmet-y.

I just don't see how a removable mask would be workable along with rooted hair--talk about potentially ruining the silhouette!
