I would love a removable cowl or a head scupt which reguires no hair like Cheetah. A full head of hair or none at all.

I think that the removable cowl is what Retro-Action figure should be! like batman.! The females with the rooted hair and and removable cowl is more in with the mego style, I think that would appeal more to kids if that's what Mattel is trying for, but then again at $20.00 who knows what there demographics are, really, Barbie's are not even price to this level.

I don't have a problem with the Batman removable cowl, so I wouldn't mind one for Batgirl too

Eh, I hope they retire the removable cowl after Batman.

I don't know---I think Mera is more popular now than she'e been in years due to Blackest Night.

If they could work some of the kinks out of that Barbie cowl, it would work for me.

I like the removable cowl on Batman--it's the best execution of the concept I've ever seen in mass market, and displays beautifully. That said, I'm concerned about how the cowl would work over rooted hair. The Batman cowl works fine because it is tight around Bruce's head, especially if the cape is placed over it. I just don't see any way that a cowl will work as well over a full head of rooted hair--especially after it's taken off once or twice.

Batgirl ....supergirl.....catwoman are must haves for the retro line...hawkgirl would also make me very happy too (I think we will see hawkman at some point)
As for batgirls hair and cowl...how about a Barbara gordon head with short molded hair and a removable cowl with red hair rooted to it...that could work

I just wanted to second this opinion. The Brian Leitner Catwoman/Batgirl heads look great with the molded cowl, rooted combo. That style would be my pick. I'm still regretting being too out of money to buy the ones he had at Mego Meet.

However, Hawkgirl (and Hawkman) would probably be better suited for a removable. The current one has fairly short hair anyway.

I think a molded cowl (like the Cheetah) would make the head look sleeker like a feminine head should compared to a male that can get away with the bulk of a removable cowl.

Even the Tonner couldn't quite pull it off IMHO (especially with that lovely flow of red hair underneath).

The two Barbie Batgirls got the feminine silhouette, but the soft material of the cowl just looks too "floppy", particularly the ears.

Plus this one never quite sat right on the head with the bulk of the hair underneath either, again clunky from the not-head on angles.

I've been working on Catwoman customs using Brian Leitner's Catwoman head that has a molded cowl, but rooted hair in the back, and to me this is the most ideal solution. Brian's stuff (below) for some reason has always felt the most "Mego-ey" to me.

Even when he does a contemporary version of Catwoman

I want my Batgril with a COMPLETELY removable mask. I love the Mego but I HATE the molded part of the mask with the helmet sitting over it. Drives me NUTS! I plan on casting a new mask with the full face section.

I generally prefer removable masks. It adds way more play value. My kids love them. It also oopens doors for accessory sets.

The more, the merrier. Certain fiures may not work with them but BG would for sure.

How can they remake something they haven't made in the first place? I'm for them giving us their versions of Batgirl, Supergirl and Catowman. And actually I'd like them to add Black Canary, Mera, Power Girl and Zatanna while they are at it.

Yeah, Hawkgirl is the one female figure that I think could get away with a removable mask, because her hawk-mask is rather bulky and helmet-like to begin with, even when depicted in the comic. It might be the only way to get the figure in the blister!

I would rather see Shayera in a tank top rather than a belly shirt though... more Silver Age-y.

See, I agree and I don't think I'm getting in trouble by saying that, as a default, we're always going to removable mask first for that very reason. This is why I've been digging deep into this issue with this board. If it becomes a 50/50 split, you know which side we'll lean toward. I hope that doesn't make too many folks here angry...
