I say bring'em on! The more characters the better.

Not all characters will make everyone happy, but each release will make someone happy. My collection will joyously welcome all Mattycollector.com exclusives for the Retro line, if for no more reason than to support continuation. Am I a GL fan, no--not really. However, I am a Mego fan; so bring on the GLs, bring on the B-listers, just bring them all on.

Doc Mego announced in his video with Scott that two other GL figures (besides Guy and Sinestro) would be made prior to the release of the movie. I heard Parallax will be in the movie along with Hector Hammond, but I am guessing Jon Stewart is a given, with Kyle Rayner as a probable, or Alan Scott (hopefully). I would love a Kilowog but not with a padded body, so I expect him the least.

Amen. Too new indeed. I so wish I was wrong when I predicted here this would happen to this line. How far behind is Superman Blue and Red now I wonder? It suddenly doesn't sound as far-fetched anymore as when I first brought that up months ago.

Aha! That Doc Mego video confirms what I suspected from the beginning. Modern Sinestro and Guy Gardener are the first two figures from the four Matty exclusives they are doing.

I thought it was odd when sites started reporting Sinestro and Guy as a Toys R Us 2-pack. Matty exclusive GLs make much more sense.

Actually, it's not that bad of any idea, really. If Mattel keeps more modern characters ('80s +) like Guy and the Sinestro variant on Matty Collector, while the 70s style characters get play in the main line, that seems to be the best of both worlds for collectors. Folks can get whichever ones they want, and everyone's happy, at least on that score.

Mattel can also increase the amount of figures it releases per wave if the demand is there. This year, we got or are getting at least 13 figures. Next year we could, potentially, get at least 16 figures (assuming 3 more waves, plus the four GL figures). Who knows how many we're getting in 2012?
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

I may be wrong but I believe that thats wave 3 and 4 are slated for 2011. They appear to be already taking preorders for wave 3 and the expected release noted is Jan 2011. Of course I know that can change. That leaves us only Wave 1 , and 2 and GA in 2010. (wouldn't be cool to bump the waves to 6 figs instead of 4 ) I hope that we see more than 2 waves in 2011 hit retail . I agree the specialty figures will probably remain Matty ex's. But this line may go the distance , and how many 70's and Characters can you see them making or making alt versions of . I think this line if manages to carry on for years will eventually have no choice but stray the 80's mainstream or go with less marketable characters and stay Matty exclusives from that point on. Either way I do agree with Matty and retail we can have the best of both worlds and its win / win for all. With the female characters we now have even more hope for this line as it will hopefully appeal to girls , doll collectors , and Barbie collectors.

I like the idea of exclusive GL releases leading up to the movie. it gives us more chances for different characters and let's us see that mattel is pushing forward this line, yet keeping it under control so that they don't have to push minor characters at us. i won't get Guy and the new sinestro most likely , but i will keep my eye out for the matty exclusives to see if there is any i like. Tomar-re, arisia, Killowog.

I have to say that I wanted to go with yellow costume Sinestro in wave 1.
I think it's a much better looking costume than the circus outfit he wore
                            in the 60s and 70s.

I also have to say that I am not a fan of Guy Gardner so I had a hard
time spending so much time and effort on him.

I have been told that the boots will be about 10 percent smaller in
                            production.

Oh man, I can't imagine the complaints if that had happened. But I'm glad we're getting him.

You did a great job - it's a great version of his 80s Justice League costume, and probably my favorite from the line.

My kids like Guy Gardner because he was in Batman the Brave and the Bold. That's where they first heard the oath. I guess it's a matter of perspective. We will get 3 Gardner GL's.
