While I to appreciate the lower price, the scary part is the fact that they aren't selling which means TRU may decide not to buy in the future thus leading to a cancellation. As far as Mattel lowering the price for them to do that would mean cutting corners which means crappy (no offense fellows and girls) CTVT like product.

Exactly. I bought Luthor with a gift card and have been debating Sinestro and GL in-store or online ever since. When a Sinestro can go for as little as 3.00 MOC with 6.00 to ship on Ebay, it's very hard to drop anything over 15.

And I still haven't found a GL! I'm tempted to pull the trigger on an online sale, but I really want to find these in the store. Helps the nostalgia value.

There was one still hanging on the pegs with Lex and Sinestro at the one near me. My guess is that it's because it looks like his torso fell apart in the package.

I think what it really means is the assortment needs to be adjusted. If some people are complaining about not finding Green Lantern, yet Luthors and Sinestros are going on sale, then expect to see more heroes and less villains in the next assortments.

I was just at our TRU and the 2 Luthors we have are still full price. But for $11.90 I'd buy them all day long.

nah, they just are clearing out overstock in the flagship to make room for fresh merch, they do it all the time there.

Sorry everyone, but those labels are specific to a certain TRU and are not chain wide. These labels are used to mark down items that may be missing pieces, have damaged packaging or a few pieces of an item that has been around too long in order to get rid of them. If it is done to get rid of a few pieces it means that the item has been discontinued.
That doesn't mean the entire line of Retro Figures has been discontinued by TRU. Each item is assigned a six digit number called a SKN ("skin" but most large retailers call it a SKU. The first assortment of Retro Figures may have been discontinued but the next assortment is still active and has a different SKN number.
I worked for TRU for ten years and this was part of my job. Hope this information is useful.
