How do you like the way Mattel handled "Gloves"

Painted hands and "Cuffs" seemed like a good solution, although I think "oven mitts" and plastic gauntlets are more "Mego".

What would you have chosen? Do you think there is a more modern solution to form fitting Gloves that would still allow the hands to grip?

I am totally fine with the Cuff/Painted hand effect. I just wish the cuffs were a little shorter. They practically go past the elbows.

The cuffs/gauntlets did end up being too long so we are making sure in future
figures to keep them shorter, but not too short.

They need to be thinner material. At least that's what I think.

I think it would have been cool to have the option of oven mitts. They could include a set in the package and make the cuffs on the figure removable. That way, oven mitt lovers could make their figures more Mego-ish if they wanted to.

Although I guess there is nothing stopping folks from buying repro mitts/gauntlets and putting them on their mattel figs.

Absolutely!! My son's only complaint was that they didn't have the "gloves like daddy's Megos". Half the fun as a kid was swapping the costumes with other characters and gauntlets won't allow you to swap. Hell, you can barely get them off the arms. I have already had to stitch my sons' GL and Sinestro because my 2 year old daughter tried to take the clothes off and seperated the guantlet at the seam.

I like the way they used colored hands and gauntlets. No oven mitts to lose during play, and it looks nice. I hope they continue using that design.

Same here. And now that the gauntlets will be shorter the gloves will be perfect

We thought about cloth - and it was decided that it lacked the three
dimensional effect. Super Collector will have cloth cuffs because that's
how he was designed and rendered by Steve Moore.

I think the current version (with the noted fix in length) is the right way to go. The oven mits would make zero sense for today's kids. We, the vintage collectors and original customers for Mego, can always customize to accommodate our nostalgic tastes.

The cuff/colored hand solution for gloves is as good as any, no one has really come up with the perfect solution yet even after all these years. I like the soft rubber gloves that are out there, but they do look bulky.

I'm not bothered by it. it's a retro figure it should looked a bit jacked up..that's the charm to it.
