So.. to put this "rumor" to rest.. we'll go to the man himself with the question.

Doc, will wave 2 figures for sure have new/improved, or different, body types than the wave 1 figures?

Doc has already answered that question many weeks ago, he's the one that laid the bread crumbs. No one said there would be a new body, all Doc said that by wave 2 the issues would be addressed and fixed

Will some kind MM attending-able soul step up to video this bit for us out here in the trenches? I'm a sucker for this type of R&D process knowledge and I just can't get enough, but I can't make Wheeling this year.

    for the record,

I am not implying that wave 2 will or won't have any true 'fixes'. But I am definitely interested in seeing what changes get made as the line progresses.

Growling and nitpicking at what one does and does not like about a character design will happen no matter what. There are so many opinions and desires about characters that it is impossible to satisfy everybody. So that is really a non-issue.

The only true problems (i.e. what will keep the masses from purchasing them) with this line are technical. So - I suggest sitting back and watching what the r&d folks can come up with to solve the issues with the next version of the body.

I think we have had thirty plus years to discuss how we would have liked
to see certain characters made or re-made and now I am the guy - along
with my partner Joe, our guy at Mattel, and DC Comics' art director - who
    is making those decisions.

Every customizer is doing that when they customize. We are all designers
    of our own toy line.

At Mego Meet I will show you how we work through the process using
    pre-visualizations. Don't miss it.

There you go confusing your opinion with facts again.

Who says the bodies are poorly made? All seven of my figures stand just fine.
Who says the sculpts are "bad"? Whatever that means. They look good to me.
Just because YOU don't like something, doesn't mean it's bad. You don't have to buy them.
I think some people are NEVER satisfied with anything, and will always complain, no matter what.

Advanced technology has nothing to do with it, they went for the same charm as the original body, don't need advanced technology for that. Do the new bodies have issues? Yes, they do, but remember these were a first for Mattel in this scale, should be fixed by wave 2. It's normal for new toys to have some issues. Melting noises? You mean noses? First I've heard about this. A little sealent inside the bubble? Who cares, it's harmless. Ugly boots? I like 'em. Snags in the costumes are an issue, on that I agree with you as well. I hope that'll be fixed by wave 2 as well. Batman's suit does look a little large, but it's a prototype, the finished costumes so far looked spot on and tight.
So in all, I love 'em and I would hate to see the line end, I hope to see plenty more waves, up to 20 at least
That is pretty much spot on as you can get.

Customes with snags or which snag very easy, ugly boots, parts which become unglued easy.uniforms which are look to large for the body and look to big. If the line was to disapear I would not miss them much. I would like them to last longer But for the cost I want a better product.
I know some of you might not agree with this, and some will, buts its my 2 cents on it.let me know.

I agree with this statement. I HATE the Mego T1 Body. The Molded Cowl Batman is a bad Sculpt...as is Captain America, and a few others.

So we'll call the Wave 1 Body...the Mattel Type 1. Lets hope for big improvements.

    Comic con

Comic con is not until later July so it looks like we have some waiting. It is a relief to know the line is still strong - 4 more sets, 16 more figures. Sweet. Plus exclusives, well if there are any. Any news about exclusives from the convention. I know about the ghost buster one, are there any others? I so wish I could afford to attend. I have heard it is sold out already. I think I will make plans to go next year.
