Very nice. I have to say I like John's prototype Chaney Wolfman better, but this version is nice also. I love the Frank sculpt. At $16 a piece these are a no-brainer.

they both look great, I was hoping they were coming at Halloween, tho. I'll be broke after the second wave of Retro Heroes in June or July.

Yeah, I am a little bummed. The Wolfman prototype was much better. I was really looking forward to him.

It's something mandated by the Universal style guide. I work in licensing and pretended I was considering the Uni Monsters once (we just went with generic monsters) and thats when I noticed that they insisted upon it.

I looked but could not find the prototype pics. Can someone post those?
                  Thanks!

The color of Frankenstein's jacket was also a specific PMS color from Universal.
Some licensors give a wide range on colors, and some want a consistent look
                    across lines.

Frankenstein's boots are removeable - they give him extra height.

Thanks for the info on these figures Doc. Great price point as well. Let's hope there is more to come after the first four figures.

Question for Doc: Did Diamond believe that they needed the specific Universal licensed characters because more generic public domain versions wouldn't sell?

^ That's my thinking..When you think of monsters, most folks think of the Universal versions.

Like us, the guys at Diamond are big MEGO fans and big fans of the Aurora model
kits - and it always seemed a shame that when Mego made monsters they were
                            not the official Universal versions.

The license became available and after lining up the usual statues, mini-mates,
etc. - they asked us to do mego versions - and correct another mistake of
                            history!

YEAH!! That's the stuff I like hear! Fixing some of the things Mego missed(Checkov & Sulu), or mess up on(brown Gorn/Klingon)....is what EMCE does BEST! I like your EMCE stuff best Paul, I guess because I think you have more control over it(like pushing Diamond for the taller Andorian Bubble).
