Man, I always wanted these back in the day, but had to make do with the Remco 9"ers. I still remember the Wards catalogue picture with the Mego heroes up against the non-Mego monsters; that made a real impression on me and I carry that idea as one of the coolest concepts in super-hero battles to this day (the annual Halloween displays I used to put up with my Megos were a direct result of that).
I echo the sentiments, though, that two a year (as I've heard it) isn't enough to really keep interest up. These are WAAAYYYY too cool to limit like that.

I actually think it is nice that stuff is spread out a little. I jumped on Green Arrow, but I can't afford to lay out $90 bucks for the other heroes. I'm a little more excited about the monsters, though.
I would LOVE Harker, Van Helsing and maybe Mina Harker (My daughter's namesake, actually)Leave a comment:

Just 2 figs per wave?
If so--jeez I hope the line is successful & we see Gillman & Phantom of the Opera for wave 3...

Fixing some of the things Mego missed(Checkov & Sulu), or mess up on(brown Gorn/Klingon)....is what EMCE does BEST! I like your EMCE stuff best Paul, I guess because I think you have more control over it(like pushing Diamond for the taller Andorian Bubble).

Like us, the guys at Diamond are big MEGO fans and big fans of the Aurora model
kits - and it always seemed a shame that when Mego made monsters they were
not the official Universal versions.
The license became available and after lining up the usual statues, mini-mates,
etc. - they asked us to do mego versions - and correct another mistake of
history!Leave a comment:

^ That's my thinking..When you think of monsters, most folks think of the Universal versions.Leave a comment:

Question for Doc: Did Diamond believe that they needed the specific Universal licensed characters because more generic public domain versions wouldn't sell?Leave a comment:

Thanks for the info on these figures Doc. Great price point as well. Let's hope there is more to come after the first four figures.Leave a comment:
