This happened to me 2 months ago where I am. I was told a truck was coming in on Thursday didn't get there till Friday and there was only 1 Lex left. Came back a month later only about 8 or so figures there. I was told by the sales clerk that a lot of people like them. It might just depend on your area, I only have 1 Toys R Us around and its probably 100 miles to the next one.
Today I saw only 1 Retro Action 8" Lex Luthor at a MO (outside St Louis) Toy R Us- NONE of the other 3 RA characters! Sales must be GOOD! *And there was a COMPLETE SET of DC Universe Classics Series 11 6" figures BESIDE RA Lex! Collectors (like me) can JUSTIFY $19.99 for an 8" Mego DC figure NOT $14.99 for a 6" DC figure!
Interesting find in one TRU store this weekend - FOUR Lex Luthors and FOUR Sinestros, but only one hero and that was Green Lantern. I picked him up as a double. It seems the interest in the villains has slowed considerably. I think too that is where price will play a factor. The villains will warm shelves longer because kids will be more motivated towards the heroes when getting compared with other figures in the isle. I bet production volumes will shrink too on future villains for Waves 2 and 3.
Found at least two complete sets a the TRU in Eatontown near Monmouth Mall. A couple extra Luthors and Sinestros as well. About half the figures were bent weird, like they got punched in the gut.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."
