    Idea for new EMCE line

Hey all, I love watching the show Human Target on FOX. Last night I was watching the season finally and I thought how cool it would be if DOC would come up with 8 inch figures for this show. They even had the six million dollar man on the show last night. I think it would be EMCE worthy and I would love to see figures from 24 too. A mego sized Jack Bauer, AWESOME.

No offence intended...but I don't think this show will make it passed season 1.

Now "24" on the other Hand...I'M ALL OVER THAT!!!!!!!

In the world of hopes and dreams... I think what would be a cool EMCE line would be figures from Smallville. I have no idea who has the license but it would be cool to see the junior Justice Leaguers as Mego Style figures. To me it would be only fitting to have new Mego's made of the new take on the Super Heroes.

This format works best on colorful characters - the best received ones have
        vibrant colors and non-standard features.

Waltons, Dukes, Brady Bunch, Happy Days, StarskyHutch - all not very
        desireable.

Superheroes, Apes, Trek, knights, pirates, RobinHood - all highly sought after.

Looks more like a differentiation between fantasy characters and reality based characters. Too bad as the Waltons and S&H had some fantastic cloth goods and portraits.

The Dukes and Happy Days figures were desirable in their time with the popularity of the television shows when they were released. S&H - same thing. Hopefully you will enjoy the same type of success with the Lost and Dexter family of characters. In the long term tho- who knows what folks will want to revisit, rediscover, and collect.

How about the A-Team? They're kinda colorful and I've always wanted to see Mr.T as a Mego. Plus they have a movie coming out which could draw in some people.

I'd have to agree that the more fantastic characters are more appealing. I can't understand wanting Walton's figures (as nice as they might be).

A agree with Doc about Colorful characters. I keep having to restructure my collection to weed out the human factor.
I can obsess over oddball human characters, but in the end they really don't stand out. Peter Parker and his colorful outfit -
Way cooler than Johnboy & Starsky any day.
Tex Willer figures really reach out and grab you.
The American West figures - Not so much.

Not that I want an entire collection of toys in Fisher Price colors
But the bright Alien/Hero colors are really fun to display.

I don't even read superhero comics.
Half the time I still collect this stuff just because the characters look interesting.
                Cheers,
                Guyx1

I would love to have a Mr.T mego! The one from the 80s has the squishy head but its a little small I think. I used walton heads for Trek crewmen and S&H, Happy Days too.

I don't have any interest in the retro type stuff covering modern tv shows or movies. It works better for me with the classic stuff like Trek or Happy Days.

                      "Non-standard features"

Doc.........that's a very interesting observation...Mego works best during when they have non-standard features"

What exactly are non standard features? Does that mean Mego works best when the figures aren't attemping too much "realism"? When they are not attempting to reproduce the look of real people? (But on the other hand Kirk and Spock etc look great.)

                      Do elaborate please.

                      Thanks.

How about Adam West and Burt Ward--maybe West in jacket and ascot, Ward in red sweater?

I think under certain circumstances, human based characters would be great. Especially from a nostalgic TV shows that has popular boy toy archetypes (like firemen, doctors or police). In other words, bring on the Emergency!, Hawaii Five-O and Adam 12 figures! I'm talking about for attracting the nostalgia of 1970's kids.
