It's impossible. If Mattel made the blister half an inch taller and gave Batman groovy extendo ears, somebody would chime in about how they hate the long ears and what a waste it is to manufacture two different blisters. As a matter of fact, I have a draft ready just in case:-)

It's a prototype. There's no reason to think the Batman suit won't fit the same way the Superman, GL, Sinestro, or Lex suits did.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

Oh, I very much understand that and I don't blame you for anything, I am grateful in fact, even tho it doesn't show sometimes. Just remember that whatever negative remark I make when it all boils down to it I applaude you for everything you've done for this hobby

Did I miss some new pic of Retro Batman or is this thread referring to that older set of pics with Two-Face, Aquaman, and Black Manta that were posted awhile back?

I'm still new here, so I don't delude myself that anything I say carries much weight. But for my part, my expression of frustration was genuine and directed solely at Mattel. While I can't apologize for what I said -- it's what I think, and this is a public forum -- I will apologize for how I said it. I'm sorry if it appeared ungracious. It was a response to the message, which disappoints -- not to the messenger, who doesn't!

Well said! The Blister decision was completely on Mattel. Paul has brought Mego back, and we are grateful(and Ill FIX Batman).

                    It's the belgian's fault

The great thing about this forum is that every voice carries the same
weight - and I am always glad to read the thoughts of the most
important segment of the Retro Action fans - the guys who grew up
with MEGO and have the keenest insight into them.

My annoyance was strictly limited to the implication that I was
making up excuses - and I blame Thomas for that - because he
lives in Belgium, and can't show up at my house with a weapon.

gentleman , may i remind that mattel like other toy companies (MEGO)is in the process of making toys. Cheaply and as cost effective as they can while, still remaining close to the character as possible but still affordable to the general consumer.
even mego and other toys companies of the 70's squeezed figures in smaller blisters , shoddy clothing , poor paint jobs and so on, yet we love them , have fond memories,Lets us enjoy what we have now. instead of nick picking every little thing!!God I never did that when i was a kid , espeically when saved money as a 9 year old from my job at a pizza shop. I was glad be able to get something!

We do appreciate them, but as adults, your eye notices more details.

When we were making the Andorian, the factory wanted to just squish his
antennae into the regular blister. They were shocked when I suggested
making another blister just for him. Luckily it came in handy the next year
for the Mugato, but at the time we had no guarantee that the line would
                            continue.

Give Mattel the benefit of the doubt. When they see healthy sales numbers
from this line, it will get more attention. It is great to be able to e-mail them
a thread from here full of well thought out, well expressed comments that
show that there is an audience that appreciates attention to detail.

Thanks for that info Paul...it means a lot. We don't get to see the inner workings of Mattel, so we appreciate it when you fill us in.I'm glad you fought with Diamond to get the Andorian RIGHT....thanks, I love him!!

Why would I wanna shoot the guy who has revived the 8" format, in such a way that the new 8" era is even bigger than the original

But just to make it clear again, I didn't say YOU made a lame excuse, I meant the reason Mattel gave you was lame.
