The picture floating around was a quick scan in the background from AOTS, not an official announcement.

This is also about business agreements, not ego so much.

Typically news of this sort, or an official announcement, goes hand-in-hand with either a magazine, web-site or some other news organization getting the right to break the news (some agreement w/Mattel took place). In this case, ATOS gets the rights. Doc would be stepping on the toes of Mattel if he were to discuss it before ATOS (or Mattel) "officialy" announces it.

Not saying Doc should've spilled the beans. But now that they have been on TV I don't understand why they don't make the announcement now. Why keep waiting, that's what I don't understand.

They may have been "seen" on TV, but they have not been announced on TV. Big difference. Until that happens all must remain silent to honor agreements already in place. There may be an "official" announcement today though.. so check ATOS this evening.

Wow, Im really looking forward to these, as much as I am not bothered with playsets for the super heros, I sure do hope they make the ecto 1 and fire house, this would definately be a seller with the kids, and think of all the monsters for this i hope they make. Ive still got my eye on that limited edition set with the whole series.

I don't buy playsets because they take up too much room, but Ecto 1 would be fantastic. I also hope that there's at least a Slimer packed in with someone.

Part of the charm of the original Ghostbusters figures were the Monsters. Even though they wouldn't have the crazy action features, I hope this line is successful enough to get some of the wacky creatures from the cartoon line.

I would love to see Stay Puft, but can't imagine how they could pull him off Mego-Style... It just wouldn't feel right to put him on a Mego fat body with a padded suit... he's a big blob of Marshmallow after all.

Actually I do the same even though i HAVE a dvr, it's a pain to record something then be stuck watching it where it was recorded. Someimes the old way is BETTER! Bring on the GHOSTBUSTERS!!!!

Looks like Peter Venkman is in a variant suit for SDCC, leaving the regular cartoon costumes for the full line whereever its going to be sold. Sta-Puft is on the card.
