    sure could be glue splat
,as anybody reported on the outfits
or the vinyl head is reacting with the clear blister

I removed all but one of the figures I bought from the package. I did this by cutting a flap in the bottom and gently removing the figure. I didn't notice any residue at the time. Reading this thread prompted me to check the now empty packages and every one of the empty packages have what appears to be the same stuff as has been reported.

What I see inside the bubble seems to be confined to (at most) the upper-third of the bubble (apparently confined to the area where the head was). It almost looks like pitting in the plastic, but I scraped a spot and it came off. It is not really noticeable until I hold it up to light, but it is there.

Now, all of these figures have been out of the bubble for a couple of weeks and none of them show any signs of residue on the figure, but I left a Green Arrow on the card and in the box and it has the same residue inside the bubble and appears to have the runny-nose look that has been reported Is my Retro Superman's nose melting the bubble? - Mego Talk. It didn't have that when it arrived.

I don't have any theories, but I wanted to report what I have observed.

usually mold release is not toxic & are silcone base, water vaper either.
the fabric Persertive , usually is formaldehyde or copper napthenate
really low on the toxic latter.
I do not think it leeching from the head or body because lex purple fabric is not showing blotches of soak cloth nor is the head sweating.

for the time being guys I suggest put your carded figures in a cool semi-darken area,.around 60-70 degrees, until we known what were dealing with

Just got Lex and Sinestro at the Hurst, Tx. Store and they also have the "ooze". The clam shell doubles as a sneeze guard I guess.

I still have two Green Arrows sealed. One was out of the mailer box, the other I took out of the mailer box yesterday (traded the mailer boxes to a member). Neither of them have this "stuff" on the inside of the bubble; I have two sets of Wave 1 and both have it although the set I bought off ebay from Game City has less than the ones from TRU.

I got to looking at the difference in the height of the plastic bubble on GA vs. Wave 1. The bubble on GA is 1 1/2" high whereas the bubble on all four Wave 1 figures is 1 3/8". Wave 1 figures seem to be packed in there pretty tight - all of their noses are pressed up against the plastic. GA has some extra room. Not sure if this has anything to do with the substance inside the plastic..

That's kind of disturbing. I have a green arrow that I never even removed from the mailer box. I'd hate for him to melt away in there.

Well, I can guarantee that it's not condensation on the inside of the blister... It isn't water, but a more oily substance.

The figures I opened are fine, as are their empty packaging. It only seems to be happening to the figures still on the cards.

    Thanks for the pics

Thanks for sending the pics - I will forward them to our contact at
Mattel. I did see this on mine, but I thought it was the bubble
itself, not something connected to the figure.

I think AAAAA is right, but instead of making guesses, let me see
    if Mattel can identify it.
