I loved that response. Too sweet. I guess my only issues is that when I was six I got some amazing megos. Still have them and they never had any manufacturing problems. They looked amazing, had fantastic articulation, great costumes, etc....I have been playing with Speedy again since GA's release....Truthfully he is a much better figure manufactured in what...1976? Unfortunately, these new toys will not hold up in twenty years. Heck this body is already being retired by Wave 2...I think everyone acknowledges there are problems with these figure...they just don't want to hurt sales.

True, impressive sales are what will drive a wave two, three, four, and so on. In the beginning the most important factor behind continued production of the Retro line will be the bottom line. Mattel does not care about the collectible nature of the figure, only so much as it pertains to the profit margin; they cannot be blamed, without a clear margin of profit Retro DC is just another dead toy line for them.
In order to make the Retro line live through Mattel and EMCE we all must provide some breathing room for improvements. Sure there will be areas that need repair and lots of room for improvement. Show me any toy line that starts off with perfection.
Nobody has created a toy line like Mego for 25 years, so some techniques will have to be re-learned before they can be improved. Maybe instead of dishing out logistical lumps and slinging mud, the members of this museum should be offering their criticism in a productive way. After all, Mattel's staff is reading our opinions, so let's make them count.
On a side note, your point about the original Mego bodies being better quality is well spoken...and agreed on. Wave 1 has pros and cons for collectors, who will be a strong influence on the financial success or failure of this line. Fixing the bodies would truly go a long way towards tilting the scales in favor of pro."Procrastination is the art of planning for tomorrow."Comment

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately, it comes off as mud slinging but it really isn't. It is not fair to the consumer to release a product that is not quite ready. These manufacturing bugs should have been tweaked a long time ago. In fact....Mattel has a Q/A to get input...why not select members of this community to test their product in advance? If you notice...I have been a member for quite awhile and I never like to complain post. However, this is not fair to fans who are actually supporting this product. I bought way more than 1 GA and only 1 set of the first wave so far....So I feel I should give my honest opinion without feeling as if I'm being negative or less of forum member for finally speaking up. I will continue to support this line but not as before...I will buy multiples when and if the product is actually worthy.Comment

Very well stated and in a highly respectful manner. If all negative post were done in as eloquent a fashion as yours and with such positive critiquing, I think Mattel would sit up and listen. Unfortunately your mannerisms appear not be shared by all; what a shame.
Thanks for bantering with me."Procrastination is the art of planning for tomorrow."Comment

Thinking about charging my camera to take some pics of my Wave 1 GL flopping over in the waist because of the crappy rubber bands. Wish more people actually had these in hand and out of the box to see what is characterized as perfection by Mattel. These suck in so many ways.Comment

Everyone who has these issues should take a picture and post them. Maybe then we could see the scope of the problem. Thanks in advance.Firefighter/Mego CollectorComment

Is there an email address available for Mattel? In stead of just calling Mattel and complaining it would have more impact if they could actually see what the problem(s) is (are)."...The agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair..." - Edgar Allan PoeComment
