    (1) These will NOT be shipped in mass quantities. A few cases here and there is typical of Mattel shipments and TRU ordering.

    (2) TRU will probably give these, maybe, two pegs worth of space.

    (3) When they show up, they will be bought quickly by collectors and or dealers for the first couple shipments.

    (4) Superman & Green Lantern will be the 1st to go. Leaving uneven sets where not cleared out completely.

    (5) Periods between restocks will be FOREVER. (Between TRU and Mattel you couldn't ask for a worse recipe for distribution/stocking).

This is not the 1970s, or 80s, TRU is really careful about over-stock these days, and Mattel is very, very inept at distribution (think DC Universe and how bad that is). Like I said earlier, a really bad situation for a partnership.

So.. you see them, buy them. There will NEVER be a need to clear these out with cut-rate pricing.

    Trust me.

Maybe you're right, I don't know, but since TRU is the ONLY place they'll be available (not counting the internet of course) I would imagine they'd do the exact opposite of what you just said

I don't know if EE ships over the pond, but I know that if I buy enough cases of them, I can get the figure price down to 16 or so bucks before shipping.

      Hope that helps.

You would think right? But not so.

Target and Walmart get exclusives from Mattel every year, every year... the ability to find them at Target is average, about 60% success rate. Unless, it's the end of the year like Nov. or Dec., then that success rate drops to about 5%. Target uses the same product number for many of their DC figure characters within one line. It's impossible for them to tell at the store level what's selling. Only the quantities sold of the line are known. Nov. and Dec. they are typically slated to get 2 6-packs for brand new JLU characters, but very few stores actually get them because they are setting on 6-7 month old exclusive 6-packs from April with the same SKU numbers. This has happend two years in a row. Mattel/Target couldn't figure out the problem or solution for two years, and still hasn't. Many upset people abound on that one.

Walmart gets at least 5 to 8 Mattel DC exclusives every year (probably more w/hot wheels & Barbie). I maybe only see 1 or 2 of these exclusives actually in the stores. And I go more often than most casual shoppers. Walmart exclusives are the worst of the worst. Thank god these are not going there.

TRU carries a lot of Mattel stuff. The Batmobile 1:48 line has been there for years. But in my stores it's almost never restocked. Just tons of the undesirable fin-top batmobile hang there. The Batman Brave & Bold figs rarely get restocked.. just the many versions of rat-trap Batman etc., and a lone villian or so. DC Universe classics are almost always 2-3 assortments behind, with most TRUs only having Capt. Cold, Kid Flash and Cyborg from two years back. TRU so under-orders stuff that most of their stores have barren aisles, and the stores look like those knic-knac stores that pop up in malls.

Not really feeling these retro-megos would fare much better at TRU than any other Mattel DC products they carry. Just my opinion though.

Hedge your bet.. you can buy them and always keep the receipt for "if" they go on sale. Just return the higher price ones if they do (within the 30-90 day return period of course).

        regards

Toys R us Technical Tip for the Toy Tyrant:

I went in last week to get the giant foam Planet Earth T Rex. A lady asked if she could help. I pointed at the sticker on teh shelf and said , "no youre sold out", she took her phaser /scanner magic gun shot a laser at it , told me there were none in the back and none in my town. Then she took the sticker handed it to me and said go to teh front desk.

I went up handed the sticker over , the computer scanned it in a few minutes teh lady asked me if I wanted it in Brown or Green shipped to my house free shipping!

          Technology does some keen things.

But , It's a new line I gotta see it in person before I get one. Guess i'll vist the Toy Scalper "Zoo" ( look but don't feed) at the Flea market and see if I want to order the Bad guys.
