I checked Toy R' Us today. I spoke with an employee stocking the action figures. He hinted to me that they were in his stock room but he would not tell me when they would be put out on the pegs. He told me that they were $20.Comment

I think 20 is a fair price considering but I don't think its going to do anything for kids. I'd like it to but I just don't see it. As far as clearance at TRU, you can hang that up... the greedy toy mongers of the 90's will return to snatch everyone of 'em up and slap 'em on the bay.Comment

I figured around $15 also. The EMCE Trek figures were selling retail last year between $15 and $19 here in NYC comic stores. Since the Retro Hero figures will come in a cheaper package and be produced in larger quantities, I can't imagine them going for more than $15. I also could not imagine some non-Mego collector buying these figures in TRU for their kid at a price of $20 to $25.Originally posted by kryptosmasterRight now on emce's website there are no less than 4 figures for $15 each.
If they can sell these low-volume figures at that cost and still make money then I feel A GIANT company like Mattel should be able to produce and sell their line of figures for 1/2 that but I'm being generous and saying $15.

Well, heed my words for those waiting to get these at TRU.

 (1) These will NOT be shipped in mass quantities. A few cases here and there is typical of Mattel shipments and TRU ordering.

 (2) TRU will probably give these, maybe, two pegs worth of space.

 (3) When they show up, they will be bought quickly by collectors and or dealers for the first couple shipments.

 (4) Superman & Green Lantern will be the 1st to go. Leaving uneven sets where not cleared out completely.

 (5) Periods between restocks will be FOREVER. (Between TRU and Mattel you couldn't ask for a worse recipe for distribution/stocking).

This is not the 1970s, or 80s, TRU is really careful about over-stock these days, and Mattel is very, very inept at distribution (think DC Universe and how bad that is). Like I said earlier, a really bad situation for a partnership.

So.. you see them, buy them. There will NEVER be a need to clear these out with cut-rate pricing.

 Trust me.

There's really no reason these should be priced higher than $15 tops.

 Hiya ts,

Have you ever tried to do an account with one of the second tier wholesalers like Entertainment Earth or Big Boys Toys or another of those types?
I don't know if EE ships over the pond, but I know that if I buy enough cases of them, I can get the figure price down to 16 or so bucks before shipping.

 Hope that helps.
