All the talk of "several different Batman" figures is starting to scare me. If one sells well, they will make more. After they flood the market with six waves of different Batman figures they stop selling and the line dies off. Toybiz did it with the Famous Covers line. It turned into almost strictly X-Men figures, and then faded away... If we get more than one Batman figure, it should be a Mattycollector.com exclusive. Not a mass market item. Which I have no problem with...
Batman has been done in so many different styles it's almost impossible to stick to one. It'd make perfect sense to make more than just one version (with different sculpts BTW, not just a new outfit).
But I agree this shouldn't become the Mattel Batman Show either. Personally I'd love it, but not if it eventually kills the line. I'd rather have less Batmans then and more other figures.
And no, no more matty exclusives, no more exclusives period. What's wrong with a different version being a mass market item. Screw exclusives

I agree...just one Batman "done right" will be enough to make me happy. Neil Adams Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was me and I agree 100%. Garica Lopez's style guide images would be perfect. Lopez's style is close enough to Neal Adams (where Batman is concerned) and his renditions of the other characters have the perfect classic/iconic look all around.
This is what see in my minds eye when I imagine new Megos.

I think it's a safe bet that Batman will be based on the Jose Luis Garcia Lopez style-guide art, and his Batman is heavily influenced by Neal Adams, so we should be good.
After all, it's a JLGL headshot on the Green Arrow package.
