Do you guys think that a Cyborg figure would make a good Mego and perhaps be more commercially viable as a Mattel product?
"NO" to Cyborg.....
1) Even though he's been in other toylines, I think he's too "new" for Mattel's retro-action line, especially when there are other older characters that would be a better fit.
2) Cyborg without the rest of the Titans is blah....I always questioned why he made it into the Super Powers line to begin with, considering he wasn't as iconic as some of the other characters. Of course, this is also the same line that copped out at the end and gave us Cyclotron & Golden Pharoah.
Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!
Given the Superfriends theme, I think Cyborg has as much place in the Mattel retro-line up as someone like Firestorm.
On the other hand, as much as John Stewart is a favourite of mine as well, it's him have trouble seeing in the retro line. Even if they just did a headswap variant with Hal.
Stewart would be the most commercial choice of course since he's had such a high profile in JLU and the accompanying merchandise.
Cyborg is "later-Super Friends"....I think the Mego connection is definitely the "Challenge" years.
And if you expect to see Cyborg because of his SF connections, then should we expect to see DeSaad, Kalibak and Darkseid?
At the expense of other 70s characters or a Plastic Man?

I really like Cyborg - but would prefer if Mattel focused on the 70s superheroes out of the box. Again, if this line continues on for a while, I would love to see what a Mego-like Cyborg would look like. We got the classic Perez Cyborg in the DCUC line and I remember reading on other sites that a lot of people weren't thrilled with the piece - perhaps wanted a more modernized look on Cyborg. So I don't know if he sold well or hung around on the pegs.

Not DeSaad or Kalibak, but c'mon! Darkseid on a Muscle Body would be BOMBER!
Plastic Man definitely comes first in my list, but it would be a tough toss-up if it meant a MISTER MIRACLE Mego! I'd finally get a figure with enough articulation to do all those fancy escape moves!
Part of me giggles inside at the idea of a Granny Goodness on a Muscle Body. It's like when they brilliantly cast Ed Asner as Granny.
I'd love Cyborg 1st but would also take Black Lighting and Black Vulcan. I'd buy all of them and I'd buy John Stewart too. It would be cool to have a few other black hero's to go in my mego case.
