Mattel's Bow is like it is for Safety Law reasons. That's all it is. I don't really mind because I'll just put it in his hand and display him. I don't plan on shooting anyone with it lol.

I love the bow you made. It looks great!

True, though I don't think DC ever drew him that way in my recollection. Marvel did it with Hawkeye and included it in the FC design of Hawkeye's suit. Great idea for an adjustment to the final piece, but how about a boxing glove arrow that fires? Wonder if Laser Mego can cut a more ridgid bow that will be better suited to a Mego scale figure holding/firing it. Maybe a one piece arrow shaft with the feathers that other tips can be added to. Hint Hint.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

Toy Biz Made some terrible 9" Famos Covers figures a few years ago they were also junk, over size bodies tiny heads real bad stuff. It is so easy to copy something from things already made why can't Mattel be more creative they could maybe a ball jointed neck so the figure head can go up and down something different. Mattel and Hasbro both are Junk companies the make junk toys they only worry about profit and their share holders. They couldn't care less about the customers. They are falling way behind from Hot toys, Takara and Medicom in making figures.
I'll probably be skipping wave 1, really can't pose the body for my Dioramas. Hopefully, Wave 2 will fix somethings.

The whole forearm fits great, on Mego or Castaway. I was afraid to try just getting the hands out of the forearm.

The hands come out pretty easy if you heat them up. I had no problem switching them out.

                        Green Arrow bow fix

Here's mine. Updated picture. Castaway body (Restrung, for better R.O.M) Old Style Cast-a-Way Boots. I'm using the Matty lower arm w/green hands (fits perfectly on the Castaway swivel upper arm).
Thanks Brian for the Cool ideas.

^ People are somewhat disappointed I gather....the tools are out there (such as swivel arms), Mattel just chose not to use them
