I think the figure is great right out of the package. I think the interchangeability with other figures just adds to my excitement. I plan on having a complete collection of retro-action figures and buying a bunch more to make customs.

I agree he may be somewhat flimsy but there are some great qualities to this figure as well. The head sculpt, the outfit, the quiver. Overall a very nice figure. I think as this line continues the figures will get better and I am sure Mattel is reading this and will take everything into consideration. The line will eventually get better and better.

Indeed, in the end this figure will end up costing me $48, and that really stinks. If it weren't Green Arrow, I wouldn't even bother.

Those Mattel legs are sad. They have to angle the knee joint or make new lower legs or they'll always be bowlegged.
It's a shame that for $20 we couldn't get an Action figure that we didn't have to "Frankenstien" (get various parts for) all over the place. I recently been hearing that the body is flimsy and you can't even put it in a sitting pose (Where's the retro in that). Sorry, Just venting out a little.
I guess, in a perfect world......It would've had something in the area of a Doc Mego Type 2 body, ....with slimmer looking boots. Hopefully, Wave 2 will correct some minor bugs!!!

Cool, cool, the hands stay in tight though?

Thanks a lot for throwing that together. Now I know everything I planned will work out, and I won't be wasting any cash.

The boot color actually looks like a closer match in person than in the photo. I think the flash exaggerates the difference.

The hands fit okay, but the Mattel wrists are smaller, so it would look strange without the cuff.

I think between Mattel, Mego, EMCE and Castaway you turned that figure every which way but loose.

Okay, one more. I followed this recipe:

Cast-A-Way body (so he can have the swivel biceps)
Green Cast-A-Way boots (they fit MUCH better than Mattel's, at least Capt. Action's do, and the color and rubber style looks like it would match the figure better than Mego boots)
Green Cast-A-Way gripper hands (only thing that sucks there, is they don't come with green wrist pegs. I wonder if the Mattel hands will fit a Cast-A-Way body? They look like they might)
    Cast-A-Way body and boots.
    Mattel head, hands and outfit.

The added arm articulation makes it easier to pose him with the bow.

Great info, I really appreciate this thread.

The Mattel hands look better than I expected, & I like the broad shoulders. Hawkman will look great shirtless...

It seems to fit fine. Again the scale seems identical.
That is exactly what I was wanting. Thanks!

I take it that's PMS 162 for the body color (skin) and face color (Skin)?
