The Klingon and crew from the first release of figures are from the animated series. The Mego costumes have the really wide collars like on the animated series and not the live action original series.

You may be right about them basing the original line on ST:TAS, but the wider collars were probably made bigger than originally shown to make sewing the outfits easier... In other words, Mego could only go so far with details and still easily make the costumes... They mass produced everything, so they didn't have time to make thinner collars and get them made quickly (unlike Theressa and others who sew each outfit by hand and have time to do details/detailing).

I'd like to see Star Trek:The Motion Picture Figures.

The only change you need to make to the original sculpts...would be to add a mustache to Scotty.

Not just that, you'd have to give Kirk a perm too...

Same thing for Scotty. He was more than a bit chubbsy-wubbsy in his later years.

Of course, you'd also have to give him grey hair, crow's feet, etc.

Uhura would be 10-15 lbs. heavier.
