    Really? Thanks! Nice hat!!! HAW!

    >10 years from now the people who had them graded is going to say the same thing people who had CTVT's figures graded

Yup. BUT: 30 years from now, 20 years after the speculators pitched theirs, they WILL be worth something 'cos nostalgia will kick in and there won't be any left. Lincoln 8" monsters were cheapie toys, and look what happened there.

'Course, 35 years from now the glut will have lowered the value; as will the reissues....

Grading trading cards makes sense....keeping some new toys/collectibles MIB makes sense.....keeping one of each Retro Action figure MIB for the long the term wont hurt.....but they shouldn't be horded for future value...they should be played with and used to create MOC's

The big reason that the old toys, especially the MIB's, are worth so much today is that back then people never even gave it much of thought as to their future collectabilty like they do today. The old MIB toys now are the few rare toys that just plain never got opened for what ever reason or were ware house finds if some kind.

Now people just put toys away saving them for the future thinking they will follow the same route as the old toys, in which they won't, because you have millions of people doing the same thing causing the prices to be low.
In 50 years these toys "may" get the same attention, but doubtful.

        An excellent point.
True: in the old days, packaging was discarded, hence high prices for MIB stuff.
These days, tons of collectors keep everything MIP, so the supply is much higher. Only high end items like MIP Hot Toys seems to rise quickly in price.

I wouldn't hold my breath expecting high returns on newer items.

And while I totally respect people's choice to grade stuff, I dislike it. It's like keeping a fantastic racing car locked up in a garage forever.
It defeats the purpose of the item.
I can understand people wanting to protect their stuff, but sometimes it just goes too far.
