    Any AFA graded EMCE?

Okay...I know many toy collectors are going to despise me when I ask this but...

Has anyone sent their EMCE figures to AFA for grading? If so, can we see a picture of an EMCE toy that was graded and forever encased in its plastic cage?

Anyone planning on sending in their Retro-Action Mattel Figures?

Maybe I am not the only one who is just a little curious.

If this question has been asked, please send me the link.

I'm opening mine when it arrives. It will be a good 30 yrs before these things have collectible value

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

Why would you want to grade EMCE or Mattel figures?

May be worth some cash in the future. Grading wont hurt, and one day it could be worth lots of money.

If you or anyone are doing this for their "potential" future value you are in the wrong hobby and should put your $$$ were it will be of more use to your needs.

I am not in it for the money as I only own one (1) of each EMCE figure and I only ordered one (1) Green Arrow. It’s just that I know that the cases on the EMCE figures are clear plastic and scratch very easy. I take pride in what I collect and want only the best for my collection. I was just curious if anyone had ever done this as I see myself keeping these for a long time. I do not want to be afraid to pull them out of the closet for fear of damaging the clear packing with minor scratches or worrying about dust and dirt. It is a legitimate question and I am sure there is someone out that that has done it in order to protect their collection or was thinking of doing it. I know 10 years from now I would have wished that I protected my packages a little better.

I look at these toys as works of art and like any art lover I want to protect them so I get the same feeling each time I look at them.

Even though they are not worth alot of money I treat my collection with great respect as if they were worth alot of money.

If that is truly the case and you view them as works of art then by all means invest in their protection.
Have them protected as best you can.
If you are looking for future gains then might I suggest picking up a few of the error figs spocks and andorians with two hands the same.Khan is a must.
Good luck and enjoy them. They truly are a thing of beauty!!!

I should also mention I collect bootleg toys that can not be submitted to AFA but I collect what I like and not based on the value.

You can get those same protective cases without having them graded. Grading them serves no purpose, except for a possible monetary one, which has nothing to do with protection

You can mock me but I do not care...10 years from now when my collection is still minty someone will say...I should have thought of that. (Or maybe not.)

PS - The land I live on is swamp land. (Florida Everglades area.)

I agree, i never understood why some people "hog them all up" the company will just make more, thus insuring the long term value will be zip. The reason some toys (megos, star wars) gained value in the first place was because they were played with, and eventually fireworked, or victims of mom's cleaning binges. look at all of the people that can't even GIVE the new star wars stuff away!

That's not really all though, it may be part of it, but....

The big reason that the old toys, especially the MIB's, are worth so much today is that back then people never even gave it much of thought as to their future collectabilty like they do today. The old MIB toys now are the few rare toys that just plain never got opened for what ever reason or were ware house finds if some kind.

Now people just put toys away saving them for the future thinking they will follow the same route as the old toys, in which they won't, because you have millions of people doing the same thing causing the prices to be low.
In 50 years these toys "may" get the same attention, but doubtful.
