I'd like to see the Tim Drake version. I think he is more relateable to todays kids, and I want to see this line survive for the next ten waves....and the only way to do that is to get the kids excited about a toyline. I dont think there is a single collector out there that would NOT buy Robin If he is the Tim Drake version. (sweeping generalization there, but mostly true)

I like Mego's Robin sculpt b/c it reminds me of Robin's profile in the opening of the 60s series."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

I was born in 69 and cant relate to the 60's version of Robin. I need a newer version. My kids can't relate either .....my son wants to know whats wrong with my Mego Robins hair, and why does he wear those "goofy" shoesComment

I like the Tim Drake version Of Robin Black cape green tights......most kids have been exposed to this version since the 90's. I really don't want a remake of the Old mego robin......I want something new.Comment

I think Mego was capitalizing on the fact that the 60s series was in syndicated reruns throughout the 70s. So lots of kids born in the late 60s and 70s could relate to those characters and figures. And it also depends what you expose kids to. The kids I babysit, Zachary and Noe', are nuts about the 60s series and begged for the Megos, (once they saw mine). My class loves it when I bring those videos to school."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

My boys like all versions of Robin but then, my boys have been around Megos and such their whole lives. As much as I hate to say this, I don't think very many kids, other than perhaps kids who have been around Megos already, are going to dig the new ones. I sooooooooooooooooooo want them to but most kids these days have no use for cloth costumes. Hasbro did excellent Marvel 9" figures just 2 years ago wasn't it? Peg warmers here. I saw them all on clearance at Winners. Those figures were nicely done too, at least the Cap I got for Xmas is cool. I sure hope I'm wrong but I think the vast majority of people who are going to buy these will be collectors.
That said, I think they should continue the 70s/80s vibe of the figures but I sure do want a red/black Robin as well as a 70s/80s version.Comment

I'd like to see Perez's Robin come to life as a contemporary Mego figure.
If they do go with "Teen" sized Titan figures, it should definitely be Tim Drake's costume. Although I prefer the short lived All Red one over the green tights/ninja boots.Comment

The toys kids have to play with today are all hard plastic, they are like big army men. They have little to no articulation aka playability.
The recent attempts had the right idea, but didnt take it far enough. Famous covers were exciting but you couldnt take the costumes off, the new ones are pretty much the same.......I think these could really appeal to youinger kids if they are given half a chance.Last edited by Fuzzysnail; Aug 20, '09, 8:45 PM.Comment

Ok, the subject of Robin is near and dear to my heart. I grew up watching Superfriends, and Batman TV show re-runs (I didn't even know what a re-run was, the shows were new to me!) Of all the superheroes, it was Robin I identified with most. I used to run around with a towel around my neck and wearing a t-shirt and underwear. I WAS Robin! He was my favorite Mego too. When I began to buy comics, I bought Batman because Robin was in it, if he wasn't, I didn't want the comic! So as a Robin fan, my vote is for Mattel to make EVERY version of Robin! How about starting with a Teen Wonder Robin? You may just catch me running around the house with a towel around my neck...Comment
