As soon as I saw who the author of this thread was, I knew it was bogus. It should have been posted in customs and not here as a mislabeled prototype. I can see where Doc could get a bit worked up. He is dealing with a big company that won't let him reveal anything in the pipeline until they are ready to do so.

"Turn the car around"? Hm-mm...in keeping with the subject matter, that would relate to doing the exact opposite. So instead of re-introducing the WGSH line to the world, you would do the opposite, and in the case of the first Mego company, the exact opposite of WGSH was.....OH NO!................. No...you wouldn't....you couldnt......not.....CLOWNAROUNDS!!!!

Behave everybody. Please!....Think of the children!!!!

(Not trying to undermine your message Paul. Just trying to diffuse the situation a bit with my awful brand of humor!)

Update... Well, now that I've read that the powers that be are upset, I guess it's time to move on and focus on more important things. It's not worth causing trouble or dealing with trouble.

    Oh well...

Yeah, that's an awesome looking Batman (The Bats photoshopped "Neal Adams" Batman)...I think it would fit in. And, I'd love to have it and see it in stores!

OK, so to bring things back together and to lower people's blood pressure, here's a Batman I put together quite a while ago. Here's a Batman done with classic Dr. Mego repro parts in the spirit of Neal Adams. The suit is not the right color but the cowl is right down the Neal Adams alley. BTW, this entire figure is all Dr. Mego's repros.....LONG LIVE DR. MEGO!!!

this is the second time you posted your custom and labeled

Actually Paul this is not the 2nd time I posted my Batman Pic, and labeled it your product...here's my original post from the other thread:
"Ok...here's what I'm hoping he'll look like(or similar to). Troy Younger totally captures the 70's Neal Adams style Batman with this Sculpt(just Food for thought)." How is that claiming it's yours?????

Yes...my title was misleading, and if I offended you "sorry"...that was not my intent. Maybe I let my excitement get the better of me...but the return of the WGSH's is a BIG thing to me.
And I'm not trying to "push" you...merely offering ideas(I saw my thread as no different than any other "what should EMCE make next" thread). Don't worry though...I won't do it ever again.

I can wait on a Batman figure - he's one of DC's Big Three, so it's a foregone conclusion that a Batman figure will eventually drop from Mattel/EMCE before 2010 is out. I'm more stoked that we're seeing OTHER DC characters first before we get to the Dark Knight Detective. I'm with Willy Wonka on this: "The suspense is terrible... I hope it'll last!"

Personally, I'm waiting for the (hopefully!) eventual Wonder Woman and Cheetah figures - I'd also like to see Darkseid, Mongul, Grodd figures someday too (we NEED new big, beefy Hulk-type bodies, IN SCALE, ASAP. I'd buy a ton of 'em just for customizing's sake).

I don't think I'm being unreasonable - the initial post was designed

By "push" I mean trying to get us to reveal information before it

Didn't your dad ever say that he was going to turn the car around
if you didn't stop fighting? Did he ever do it? Mine did.

Thanks for your speedy reply, Doc!

I completely agree that Dana should not have made this post appear to even suggest that it contains an EMCE prototype (before people actually got to the content).

As far as definitions of "cooperation" and "suggestions" rather than "pushing" (your word) go, I've seen these vary widely from board to board, company to company, especially with "the big guys", which now you qualify as (at least as long as EMCE is a surrogate designer for Mattel). It sounds like you might want to establish ground rules for us.

It's possible though, that there may be a few bumps or two in the road ahead with the gang here since we're used to not only suggesting minor details but also overall styles as well. (The folks on the he-man board for example make no bones about making MANY pointed "suggestions", openly hoping to influence prototypes. Similarly, the folks on the DC direct board have, through their "suggestions" actually had the prototypes changed to reflect "what the fans want." Closer to home, Zicatoys just made several changes to his prototype body exclusively based on Mego Museum feedback. And we're at least as vocal a bunch as the DC direct or he-man guys... LOL

Yeah, I've heard the car expression , but had never heard a vendor (or a vendor's contracted designer) use it before... and not in that way certainly..

Here's hoping we can transition to helpful suggestion making and that there won't be any more pseudo proto posts (no more fooling people!!)

Thanks again for the speedy response!!

Glad to see that the title of the thread has been quietly changed too!! That will at least immediately resolve any confusion!!

Dr. Mego is right. It is best to leave this thread for real news from Dr. Mego. Of course realistic input and discusions to what is relevant to this EMCE section of the forum is encouraged and "why" this section is here. When I first saw this thread I was blowen away because Dr. Mego had just told us that he could not give us information about future figures and or news until Mattel gives him the OK. I thought Dr. Mego is moving quicker than we all thought he would with this. And also "why would Dr. Mego show us the Batman prototype so early in the game and none of the first wave have even hit the store shelves"? But, just as I saw this picture of Batman I remembered it from the first time it was posted. It is best to get our attention in other threads of the Forum. Probably the MEGO Buzz thread would "not" be an ok place but the custom section would be great.
