My EMCE Gorn has no underpants!

Just got my new Gorn.
I waited a while due to a lack of $$$$.

Being the only Gorn on this forum, I had high expectations for this one.
And even though I have loved all previous EMCEs, this one is not my favourite. It should be, but it isn't.
So forgive me for me comments, EMCE lovers.

I have three problems.
Let's not dwell on the armbands, we've all said it; "electrical tape" (and poorly fashioned and stitched, too).
To be honest, I'm not too crazy about the tunic either. The material seems a bit flimsy, the finishes are not that good. It also looks way more glitzy than the one on the card. And the material cracks were it is stitched.
And the human hands just don't cut it for me. Neptunian had gloves to simulate claws, and my old friend Gorn just didn't have normal hands.

Paul explained a lot already, and I do understand and empathize, but it's not what I had hoped. It happens....

I love the head sculpt, it's awesome, and the legs are cool, too.
Great job on those.

As I want to keep one MIP (to put my kid through college later in life), I will need to get a loose Gorn and unleash my customizing skills.
All clothes will go (why don't aliens get underpants, is it that hot in space?).
I will either bulk up the plastic body, or make a body suit with filling.
The hands will come off and be replaced by claws.
New clothes won't be too hard. I'll even throw in some leopard print underpants...

See, I'm happy again already!
Now get me another Gorn, I want to get started......

I got the Brady Kit a while back and while my custom one doesn't match the movie all that well, I have always been happy with him. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I have yet to get the EMCE one, and am planning on doing so, but there's always room for more Gorns. I still need the Mego one too.

I don't mind the EMCE being "toned down" a bit (vintage Mego style), but he needs to be a bit more impressive. And get a better tailor.

I'll get to work on mine, soon as I locate a cheap EMCE somewhere...

But that Gorn rules. Emce should produce one as "Heroic Gorn" or something.

Maybe they can also release Kor and Kang as "Klingon Captain Kor" and "Klingon Captain Kang" and maybe change "Klingon" to "Klingon Soldier?"

Just a thought. That Gorn should sell better than any other figure. To the Collectors anyway.

The EMCE Gorn is still a heck of a lot more authentic looking than original Mego Gorn. I still love all the Originals, but it's no argument that it never looked right. I was going for a Gorn Commander steroid type of look, even if it looks like he's holding a carrot, ya gotta get your vitamins.

Yeah, EMCE Gorn looks a million times more accurate than "brown Lizard in stolen Klingon outfit". No question about that.
I'm going for "more muscular than EMCE", but no "big bruiser".

The Emce Gorn is superior to the original Mego Gorn, absolutely. And it looks good in the pix too. Very retro. But the Brady Gorn is just SO SUPERIOR.

I hope Mego retools on relaunch and does improvments. Such as better chest badges. Type 3 bodies (they look so cool). Brady Gorn. Brady Kor. Dave McC Klingon uniforms.

I hope they will improve. But I will have to say I guess the Retro line won't get much more love. The new Trek movie is good. Whatever they have planned for the Retro Cloth line now may well be it. I will end up with 2-3 of each.

While it certainly isn't perfect...it's a MILLION times better than that Butt-Ugly brown Klingon Lizard!

That said...I plan to do some customizing on my EMCE Gorn as well. I been hoping that Cast-A-Way would still make that green Bobdy I've been hearing about. The the LJN style Arms will be a big improvement! Plus, you could buy the white Cast-A-Way Gauntlets, and paint them brown. And...I've already found a good Material for a new Tunic.

Underware isn't really an issue for Gorn, if we can assume it is indeed a reptile.
